Does it come with the gasket ?

Yeah. I had the same question because you can’t tell in the picture. I took the gamble though figured I could always buy one but mine did come w/ 1 gasket.

can i hook up a vacuum to it? If so, what kind?

I have a 3/4 hp sandfilter pump connected to my stock tank. I purchased fine mesh strainer bags to fit over the strainer in the pump. I hardly ever backwash, I use a chlorine tablet. I also use a small pool net. My stock tank is 10ft.
