Item is not what appears
In full disclosure, I purchased this item elsewhere and this rating does not reflect on any seller, just the product. The overall design is outdated for most US applications but Showerbuddy is happy to provide additional parts at ridiculous prices. First, this unit will NOT for over most toilets as advertised, especially ADA toilets, the inside frame it is less than 15” wide. In addition, the foot rest frame is so high it hits the front of the toilet...plan on buying a new toilet if you intend to use this as an over the toilet commode. Second, Showerbuddy still advertises a suction cup riser design to secure the chair frame in the shower; however, this design was flawed and they now provide nothing more short risers with a rubber bottom...but for a couple hundred bucks they’ll sell you a stabilizer system. Third, despite their advertisement, the system is only designed for showers that are “substantially” higher than the floor outside the shower...but of course for another $100 they’ll sell you additional parts. Bottom line, Shower buddy sells a very expensive system with very limited application. Since the system is not returnable many customers have no choice but to purchase additional (very expensive) parts, or make expensive upgrades, just to make the system safe and/or useable. I would have rated the product 2 stars if not for the arrogant customer service, they just send links to purchase additional parts.

Ridiculously small footrest and hard to lock/unlock
I bought this from the mfg's sales rep on ebay but thought I'd review it here. This would have worked for us except for the footrest. My dad's paralyzed leg just can't bend that much. His other leg can barely fit on it either. I think the footrest is for use only when the chair is being rolled into the shower, and wish it was advertised as such. This chair is for people who can sit with their feet on the floor of the shower without slipping off the chair. Or for people with very short legs.

Awesome chair but a couple of improvements please
I purchased a used one on eBay. It has enabled me to take care of my disabled mom at home without having to pay $8 or $10 thousand to renovate her shower. The shower is a 1970s beauty that has a several inch lip to step over making it impossible to roll a normal shower chair in. So this saved the day! A couple of features I'd like to see changed on it: The foot rest has little orange plastic traction features that are quite uncomfortable for her feet. A more comfortable foot rest would be appreciated. Also, the hollow legs allow water in, but there is no real drainage system, so when I pull it out if the shower to load her up, it leaks water all over the floor. Finally, the seat is a touch on the tall side for a little old post-stroke patient to jump into. If these features were improved, it would be a 5 star review and worth every penny.
