Wholesome, fresh and great quality
I’ve been buying Shiloh Farms products for a while, and their Organic Hulled Barley Grain did not disappoint. The grains arrived fresh, clean, and well-packaged. You can tell the quality is high—the barley has a natural nutty flavor and a firm, chewy texture after cooking. It’s perfect for hearty soups, grain bowls, or as a side dish. I love that it's organic and non-GMO, and Shiloh Farms always provides clear cooking instructions on the package. Just soak it overnight and cook it slowly for the best results. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a healthy, whole grain to their diet!

Worked well in Polish mushroom barley soup
I made a Polish soup (mushroom barley) that is a traditional in my family Christmas eve. Typically it calls for a type of barley imported from Poland, which I could have ordered from Amazon if I had done it early enough (two weeks lead time). After a bit of research, and looking into "similar products," I found this Shiloh Farms hulled barley is the same type of barley, and got it in two days, in time for Christmas Eve. The soup was good, as I remember it from the past.

Delicious, healthy, easy to cook
Easy to make and delicious. I really enjoy the nutty flavor. I use this as a healthier alternative to rice in stews, casseroles, or as a standalone dish. It has a warm, nutty flavor . Barley has soluble fiber that is very gut friendly. It helps keep you full longer and control appetite thanks to beta-glucans.

COMFORT FOOD
I specifically shopped for USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC BARLEY GROWN IN THE USA. This non-GMO, hulled, whole-grain barley has a rich nutty flavor & a chewy texture. It's high in fiber, protein & essential minerals. The health benefits are endless. (It's worth reading about.) My favorite thing to do with barley is to make a hearty beef barley mushroom soup. It's filling, wholesome, nutritious & delicious. It's especially satisfying on a cold Winter day.

Nutritious, high in fiber, organic and cooks well.
Being diabetic, I watch my carbohydrate intake and as such have given up wheat pasta, white/wheat bread and rice. I eat limited amounts of potatoes prepared a certain way. Barley is my grain of choice because it is high in fiber, very nutritious and (most importantly) has the lowest glycemic index of popular grains, thereby preventing blood sugar spikes. This brand comes in the size I prefer to buy, and because it is 'hulled' (the inedible outer hull has been removed), it is considered a whole grain. Being organic is always a plus. This is the first time I tried Shiloh Farms, so I can't vouch for consistency, but I'm going to order it again based on this experience.
