Excellent Product
Works perfect between my house and barn, roughly 300' and through some brush and a few trees. Initial setup was tricky due to bad placement of radios (my bad) but once placed properly everything worked great. I have one radio mounted to the inside wall of my house and connected to the router via an 8 port switch. The other radio is mounted to the outside of my (metal) barn some 300 feet away. I get full signal strength, which I find quite amazing since the signal has to go through a few trees and vines. This guide is exactly my setup and is simple to follow "https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/205142890-airMAX-How-to-Configure-a-Point-to-Point-Link-Layer-2-Transparent-Bridge-"

Great for Quick Deployment, Temporary or Permanent
Ubiquiti LocoM2 devices are very useful for quick deployments, temporary or permanent. They are standalone and work well with both Ubiquiti and non-Ubiquiti networking environments. They are good for both indoor and outdoor use. Not the fastest these days as compared to WiFi6 or Wifi7, but still very useful.

WiFi ~ 600 feet between houses
Kind of hard to setup the first time but work well, I've used these for years and they work well. Lightning has taken out a few but that is not the products fault.

Programming is not for the faint of heart.
In general, I love Ubiquity products. For most Ubiquity products, programming is not difficult and can easily be done with an app. Programming these is more of a challenge and I do not recommend using the app, especially if you have a lot of devices connected to your network. There are a few special issues. First, you need to assign two unique fixed IP addressesโone for each device. Second, you should find the least crowded frequency for your bridge. I recommend you find the CrossTalk video on programming these. It does a good job explaining most of the issues.

Great for outbuilding. Garage. Or Barn
The programming was over my head but I have a tech buddy that set up my parameters. After adjusting placement I am very pleased. These were set up to support a barn about 200 yards from house and there are trees in the line of site. Fios at house is 100mbps. Ethernet line from the loco was around 90mbps. WiFi in the room is about 70mbps. Lost power 3x in one week for varied amounts of time. They came back on line without issue.

Two sets ordered at different times Neither has worked as advertised
They Do not work -- unable to connect to internet or my network. The price was right, but if it does not work and cannot connect to internet, it is pretty useless. Returning one, but other one was more than 90 days ago so I'm stuck for that one.

Works like a charm
These worked great to connect a detached garage located about 100โ from the house to the wireless network. Using a Synology mesh network with a pair of these I was able to extend the mesh network to the garage to connect security cameras, irrigation, a TV and a peloton.

Big value for the price
I needed to create a point to point WiFi bridge through a forest. After many hours of research, skimming product reviews, asking questions, and asking ChatGPT what it thinks, I landed on the Nanostation LocoM2. The product's specs and software configuration seemed to check all my boxes, and the price was really good. Yet I was still skeptical because of a major blocker: I have a fairly thick forest between the source AP unit and the destination station unit. All of this wood & foliage will certainly reduce signal strength. And it did - but not as much as I had expected. When I received the units, I configured the internet source unit in AP mode with Airmax ON. I configured the receiver in Station mode. Both set in the 20mhz channel. To my surprise, at a distance of around 500ft through a thick forest, I was able to achieve nearly 50Mbps, which is more than enough for my purposes (remote gate control + 1-2 cameras). FWIW, the station unit is connected via PoE to an Access Point (Mikrotik RouterBoard hAP AC Lite Tower RB952Ui-5ac2nD-TC) which provides a strong signal in about a 200ft radius in the area. I definitely highly recommend the Ubiquiti Nanostation LocoM5 and the Mikrotik AP for long distance WiFi capabilities.
