These are made for jackets not for collar brass which is 3/4 inch length. Most police departments and our Sheriff's department wear gold for officer rank. The proper way to wear Captain bars is placement so the double bars are vertical not horizontal. In other words when a shirt is worn with a tie, the bars are vertical to the ground. When worn with a jacket they are placed on the epaulet on the outside of the epaulet toward the shoulder with the double bars facing vertical to the ground. Hope this helps.

So far so good. They arrived quickly and looked as I expected. However, I’ve only had them for a very short time.... it is far too early to give a real in-depth and honest assessment about them at this time. A couple of days is not nearly long enough.

Do not buy, mine have already turned color and did so within the first 2 days of ownership.(The ones on the bottom of the picture are these that I purchased here.)

Being a captain for my FD I wanted the bars for my uniform and these are perfect. They really shine and look great on the collar. Couldn't ask for a better deal than this here.
