Time consuming, but super cute
When we opened the kit it was a little overwhelming especially considering the size and number of pieces you have to cut out of paper. Completely ridiculous! However, my 11 year old daughter and I spent 6-8 hours of quality time together to get this thing made and it is so cute now that its done! I loved the electrical component to it. The paper is much sturdier when it's all finished.I do wish the glue would dry faster. We had a heck of a time trying to get the horses to stay on the carousel (they had dreams of running free, I guess.) The tweezers are kind of low quality for what you really need for this detail, but they still worked. I am not willing to test the durability of this once dried, but while things were tacky, the dog knocked it off the table and a few things moved around a bit. Just needed to be pushed back into place. While it would have been very difficult for my kiddo to do on her own, it made a very good cooperative project and even the hubby was impressed with our microscopic skills. He thought we ordered it pre-made.

SO CUTE AND DETAILED
i was NOT prepared, when i ordered this, for how much time it would take to put everything together. the tin starts completely empty and you even have to paste in the background. this has kept me happily busy for two nights already and i'm looking forward to several more, and when i finish this one i will definitely be ordering another, and another.they give you glue and tweezers as well! all you need is scissors, a craft knife, and some toothpicks to apply the glue with. the instructions are very clear and easy to understand, the wiring part was a little more tricky but i was able to figure it out with the pictures. here are my progress pics so far after 2 days of work, it's SO much fun. if i could give 20 stars out of 5 i would

So cute!
So cute! I’ve done 2 so far. I plan to do more.I recommend using some white glue or tacky glue for some of the elements. The glue included works well with metal and gets tacky sooner, but it’s also really goopy and hard to work with. Most of the paper elements can be cut out with scissors but there have been a few spots that require an Xacto Knife.Make sure you have plenty of tooth picks as well. Perfect for applying tiny dabs of glue.Binder clips work well as clamps to hold elements together while the glue dries. I used a variety of sizes.TL:DR. Great kits, could be made with just whats in the box and some scissors but I think you’ll have a better time if you also get:1. Better tweezers2. White glue3. Exacto knife4. Binder clips4. Toothpicks.

A bit difficult for a first timer
Unfortunately there were too many issues with this set. My daughter wanted this as a first time project and was disappointed when it didn't add up to her expectations although she really tried to like it. She said she didn't like how the paper in the instruction book had to be cut out and was too flimsy to be cut with scissors so she had to use an exacto knife which still tore the paper at times. She also said the glue was not the right kind of glue because it dried too fast when used sparingly and when using a bit more would cause the paper to bubble which she hated. Also there was not enough of the glue to place the items and she ended up resorting to Krazy glue which worked better. She didn't like that some of the pieces were not cut to the right length. The lights on her project did not work upon arrival which was disappointing but she was so excited she had already opened it and separated everything and didn't want to send it back. Overall this wasn't what we thought it would be although she still tried to make the best of it. Definitely wouldn't buy it as a gift or buy it again.

Not easy, but fun!!
I have no idea why “thickness” and “sheerness” are things I’m supposed to rate, here. Kind of bizarre. But these little kits are super-cute. And definitely something that will keep you occupied for a good while. Makes sure you’ve got an Xacto knife with really sharp blades. Even the sharpest, smallest scissors aren’t going to help with some of the bits you need to cut and paste. Follow the instructions CAREFULLY and don’t throw anything away or crumple the paper. The booklet is also the stuff you have to cut and paste into the tin. The tweezers they include are okay, but I ended up using my own eyebrow tweezers, as they grip tiny bits of paper better. I usually enjoy those Metal Earth kits, but this was a nice change and definitely a challenge!!

Just no
Put a little super glue on each of your fingers and then use scissors to cut a cm square out of aluminum foil. fold it into a fan. Do this 6 times and then stack them with super glue. If you can do that then you can do this. There is seriously paper parts that are .5mm that you are supposed to cut out and use as a guide. I used an xacto and it didn't work. I'm a professional paper artist too and I about lost it with this project. I ended up substituting my own crafts for parts of it. This is definitely for someone who has steady hands, patience, or has already worked with micro crafts.

Great little kit
Such a fun kit! I'm so happy with the final product. These are definitely a challenge so be mindful it's a lot of tiny detail that you will have to cut glue and put together. If you buy one of these definitely let yourself relax and don't stress out if parts of your build look wonky. Keep pushing through each part until you are able to put it all together. More often than not, the final product comes out looking great and nobody notices the little mistakes that you made. Great buy!!!

Missing pieces for the squirrel one
I was missing several pieces. Mid project I notice... no tree, no squirrel, no sanity lol.I contacted the maker, they don't ship pieces, so I am just going to reorder it. As it is, the pieces I had were lovely and it is coming along really well. 😊
