LaCie XtremKey 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (9000445)

I like LaCie USB flash drives. I have more than a bunch of them. The usb flash drive keys are great and rugged! I have never ever had issues with them... except for this "rugged" one. After a short period of use the cap broke off the back. I got this because it was "heavy duty" and extreme -- but that was not the case (pun intended). The cap separated from the actual flash drive. The drive still works (the drive is awesome) and some epoxy will but the cap back on -- but wow, am I disappointed.

I had a LaCie Xtremkey USB 2.0 for three years and it was sturdy, dependable and attractive. I used it as my general hard drive for all work and non-work data and backed it up to a LaCie network drive. It even took a visit through my washer and dryer not long ago. Spiffier than new, it did not bat an eyelash. Unfortunately, i charged it from a crude DC/alternator and it did not survive this unhappy event, so i purchased a new USB 3.0 device.The new key is fine, working as expected. The delivery was timely and the device functioned quite well. However i was not happy with Lacie who promised security and free cloud storage. Unfortunately Lacie must have thought that everyone who knows their devices works within development for they never included any intelligent instructions on how to encrypt the device or set up the cloud storage. Everything was quesswork for the device. Very disappointing behavior by the manufacturer.

I already have a 64GB XtremeKey and I needed now another one. I can see that other customers were complaining that the key was not working and the same happened to me. I wanted to buy XtremeKey because of safe data storage and I lost my trust in this product. It looks that the storage part is unreliable and failure happens more frequently than it should. For that money I expected reliable and a kind of tested memory key. I am not going to buy it anymore.

Unfortunately, I really wanted to love it. Everything about this looked fantastic - the size, the speed, the connection, the protection.If only I could have gotten it open. I should have heeded some of the other reviews - there is no effective way to grip it and unscrew it, especially for those of us with mammoth paws. I tried everything to get it open, and eventually had to throw in the towel and send it back.Talk about security; it's so secure even I couldn't access it.

Total piece of junk. None of my computers could see this thing. I have used Lacie products for many, many years. I've always had a flawless experience. Not so with this. Don't waste your time and money. You will only be frustrated. Mine is being shipped back.

I received my LaCie XtemKey 128GB 3.0 Flash Drive and I was struck by the sleekness of the product when I saw it in person. I love that I can store all of the projects and digital clipart on one device and back it up on the Cloud.

Bit bulky for "pocket" use . . .(I went with the Petite Key for that) but rock solid and you could run over this thing with a fire truck and not damage it,.

I bought this usb key, pulled into the computer not recognized. As I do FIFO for my work it was just above 30 days requirement for return the vendor refuse to replace. Wrote to Lacie for warranty they want to check Bios mother board firmware update etc. I am not a computer genius to do all the troubleshooting they required. Note they told me this does not work for windows10

Nachdem ich das etwas klobige Teile (groß wie ein Handwerkerdaumen) einen halben Tag in der Hosentasche mit mir rumgetragen habe, hat sich beim Gebrauch der Schraubdeckel vom USB-Stick getrennt. Schuld war der schwarze, klebrige (!) Klebstoff, mit dem die Teile verbunden waren. Eine Verstemmung oder Vernietung wäre wahrscheinlich haltbarer.Soweit zu Xtrem temperaturbeständig.Keine Kaufempfehlung!!!PS: will nicht wissen, wie sich der dünne O-Ring in der Badewanne verhält. SI presenta come un drive usb dal design raffinato, eccellente costruzione e scelta dei materiali. Il peso e le dimensioni sono rilevanti, specie confrontati con le molte alternative in plastica, ma le prestazioni promesse, sia informatiche che meccaniche, sono ben al di sopra della media. Il mio è il modello da 128GB, finora nessun problema rilevato, funzionamento impeccabile.Attenzione per chi possiede portatili sottili (i.e. Mac Book Pro Retina), la "testa" dell'usb drive (che è costituita dal cerchio di diametro maggiore della chiavetta) inserita nella porta USB tende a toccare il piano su cui è appoggiato il supporto, mettendo leggermente sotto stress la porta USB.
