Review: The best finish - I used this to put a new finish on a burl walnut sculpture I had done 50 years ago. Removed all the old wax, rubbed down with 4 0000 steel wood and applied. Beautiful surface - better than the original. There is none of the product that remains on the surface if done right, just that which soaks in. Much better than tung oil.
Review: Great finish when the product needs to be food-safe! - I am a pyrography artist. My most frequent pieces are charcuterie/serving boards, so I need a finish that will be durable but food safe. I’ve tried so many including mineral oil and walrus oil or wax and so far, my favorite is this. It’s a little temperamental and not as easy to work with as the others I mentioned, but it gives the richest finish and, in my opinion, the most amount of protection. Definitely follow the instructions and watch a video or two if you’ve never worked with it before.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used on worn, dingy, oak 1960s kitchen cabinets without doing any sanding or prep?**
A: Of course, however, your end result won't look much better than newly oiled worn out dingy oak cabinets from the 1960's.

**Q: I’m trying to find a product that won’t turn yellow. Can this be used over latex paint?**
A: Finishing oils are designed to be used on bare wood.

**Q: Can this be used on items that will be stored in my garage?**
A: I don't know the conditions (how cold, etc.) in your garage; however Oils like this do not harden enough to protect against "dings", scratches, etc.  I always put a polyethylene coating on top to help prevent damage.  In that case I think it would be fine to use in the garage.

**Q: Can this be used on water based stains?**
A: No. Use on dry wood that has all previous coatings removed.  You can purchase Watco Danish Oil + Stain.

Beautiful surface - better than the original. There is none of the product that remains on the surface if done right, just that which soaks in. Much better than tung oil.
