Great garage companion
Super useful series for working on your car, this one does not disappoint.

decent manual for general knowledge
Decent manual, but it is NOT as good as my Chilton Manuals from my former career. This manual is vague and general, without necessary specifics. 4 stars is generous

Layman's Auto Repair Guide
Made repairs easy. Torquing specs available as well, so all was good.

Missing huge steps, I've been burned twice.
Completely left out important steps for multiple jobs. For reference, I have a 2011 Lacrosse CXLExample 1: Absolutely no mention that motor mounts need to be removed to replace water pump.Example 2: Absolutely no mention that catalytic converter and intake manifold need to be removed to remove power steering pump. This is the worst type of omission as you can get deep into a job that is way over your head without any foresight. If a manual lacks huge procedural steps like those above it's useless to me. Beware.

Really I needed a Lucerne manual.
Same book as the Chilton manual. Same publisher same book. Wish I didn't buy them both. I was thinking I might get different info, but I guess not.
