I bought it for the stop watch to time my breaks while I'm at work... And it does exactly what I needed besides the time. Time is accurate. The stop watch is easy to access and operate. Two buttons presses gets you started. Also easy to reset. Bonus feature, one button press gets the screen to light up and the light is just as bright as it needs to be for you to see the time. When I need to check the time right after I wake up in the middle of the night, a dim light is all I need so I don't have to stare at an extremely bright smart device screen which always feels like staring into a car's headlights right after waking up. The material is strong but does not look more expensive, if you're looking for something that looks expensive, this isn't it. But if you're looking for something reliable that is strong, resistant, and practical, this is the right watch.

Considering the price point, the quality is excellent. I had a Suunto a few years back and had to return it because it just gobbled up a battery every few days. I didn’t really need the extra functions that piece provided but I did want the general look and size and this works perfectly. I stuck to the black again although I may add their other 3(?) colors at some point, given the price. (I thought I saw a yellow in another review but I don’t see that offered right now. Would be sweet). Anyway, couldn’t be happier. It’s big but lightweight and the strap fits well and is so comfortable you forget you’re wearing it. Set up is easy when using the little instruction booklet. Has a date display and a brightness button to illuminate the time when dark. As with all watches, use the lume sparingly to extend battery life. I don’t get my watches close to water beyond the occasional splash when washing hands etc so I can’t speak to water resistance because it’s not high on my list. I have maybe a dozen watches of various expensive and budget brands for all occasions and suddenly this is on my wrist more than the rest. How did that happen? Had a question for the seller which they responded to quickly and fully so this isn’t some no name brand where nobody is home once you get your watch delivered. Recommended. It's a little big for my taste but it works great. It works for both 24hr time and 12hr time (you just need to cycle through the hours until its in 24 hr time. The watch is very dim unless you press 1 of 2 light buttons that make the light shine blue. It's a little too easy to activate the alarm but now that I know what I'm doing it easier to stop. I always just curious what the pattern over the seconds means? It doesn't say anywhere on the instructions.

watch is VERY basic. Time, alarm, stop watch. It is not hard to program nor is it complex in anyway. Advantages: Big, easy to use. Cheap. Disadvantages: No countdown timer, dim light, weak alarm sound. Overall this watch looks like a $500 watch and seems well built. I don't have the courage to take into the shower but it will get wet at some point. Just remember you get what you pay for. Smile. Glad I got it. Glad I have other watches.

After weeks of comparison I narrowed down my search: Casio Protrek PRG-330 (entry level ABC), Casio Protrek PRW-3100 (mid-range ABC, Atomic clock, STN display, negative display available) and the Suunto Core (entry level ABC, negative display). I needed a watch for everyday use but also for occasional hiking/camping. Read enough reviews on any watch and you'll find a laundry list of pros/cons. Then this watch popped up. The overwhelmingly positive reviews caught my attention, especially at the price point of <$20. The military black style + negative display (black screen, light characters) were a draw for me, similar to the Suunto Core, which costs much more. I ended up buying a used PRG-330 for the features and "splurged" some of the saved $ on this Palada. I've had a week to compare the basic functions to the Casio: Comfort - not quite as comfortable as the Casio but still pretty good. Lightweight and can be worn all day. No accidental button pushing, no snagging on clothes, no skin pitching, etc. No lugs, it does not seem that the band is changeable. Check the product specs and customer photos for anticipated size. Look - given the color/style it appears VERY similar to the Suunto Core. Upon closer inspection you can see it's all plastic but it's done well. The bezel is fixed and has a compass facade (there is no electronic compass feature/sensor). The bottom of the screen in the analogue 6 o'clock position has the letters "O.T.S." which is not obtrusive (some stock photos show "PALADA" here). The face of the watch is large, also are the characters which are "subtly" readable with direct viewing angle. Most negative display watches are more challenging to read when compared with a positive display (exception: Casio PRW-3100, clear view of negative display with STN screen) but I've been able to read this watch in most conditions. I cannot read the watch in a dark environment, however, press either of the light buttons and it's no longer an issue. Functions - basic time telling including day and month/date, stop watch (with lap-splits and cumulative splits), one moderate volume alarm clock that beeps each second x20. Toggling allows you to only go forward (1,2,3) and not reverse (3,2,1). Also, you have to press the button repeatedly to move forward, you cannot simply hold the button down to fast forward to the desired time setting. This might wear on the plastic buttons (and your nerves), depending how often you have to adjust the time for traveling, alarms, etc. Overall - an economically friendly option to a Suunto Core if you're looking for the "style" but don't need the ABC sensors/functions of a more expensive watch. I have been using this in tandem with the Casio for everyday use. Time will tell regarding durability/water resistance but other reviews appear promising. It's a great value at this price point.
