Triko round-front toilet seat with plastic hinges

Ah yes, I have the infamous "Mexican Sand" that was used so much in the 80's. I have replaced the seats before but have only found beige which didn't really match. Only reason I knew that I needed Mexican Sand was because I had to have a toilet replaced and the plumber immediately recognized the color. This is a good, sturdy seat and matches very well. There are slight deviations in color with the term Mexican Sand, my sinks, toilets and bathtubs are all slightly different shades; I lucked out and it matched the toilet exactly but it would still be a lot closer to sink and bathtub than the generic beige.

This one came with metal bolts, not plastic, unlike another reviewer's seat. It is relatively easy to install compared to others I have installed in the past. The screw can be tightened with either a blade type screw driver or a Philips driver, a nice touch. The instructions are minimal, and consists of an illustration of how the screw, the bolts and the washers should fit. There are two washers, one metal and one thin rubber one. It is difficult to tell whether the metal one go on top or the bottom by looking at the illustration but I figured it makes more sense for the metal one to be on top. The seat looks good, with a good thick shiny finish, and better than some plastic ones I have used. There are a couple of spots where the wood had tiny imperfections, if I want to nitpick, but the paint covering it is plenty thick so there is no chance they will cause any damage.

Very easy to install, my son installed it for me. Did not need the extra kit that was recommended. I am not a big person so I can say the comfort or seating is fine for me.

First one had a white spot on it like they missed coloring that spot. Got replacement. This is the 2nd one I have purchased in 4 years due to the whitening issue. I always have a seat cover on the toilet, yet white blemishes started appearing on the lid and side of seat. I contacted company and they stated it was due to the cleaner I was using. I only use natural (vinegar and water) on the toilet, so this couldn't be the case. I spent a lot on replacing my toilet in this color and need the matching seat. I don't know why this is a problem -if the color does not go on thick enough over a plain white seat? This one also did crack on us. Kohler was always a well made product so that was why I originally purchased. For the price, I think they need to make a better quality seat.

The model number for my old toilet seat was discontinued so I tried this one and fit just as nice, although it’s a lighter color. Still it looks nice.

color was spot on seat is well constructed issue is where toilet cleaner splashed on to finish colorization was removed leaving marks and a distinct lighter markings . works well fits well and would get 5 stars if colort did not did not stain so easily

I'm just a tad amused to be writing a review for a toilet seat . . . . .But, it's made by Kohler, so you know it is a quality product. I guessed right on the model and color, so I feel pretty good about that. The price was right, it arrived quickly, and it worked just fine on my very first test!What more could I ask? Five stars.

The plastic on my old toilet seat was flaking away and turning yellow so it looked like dried piss. Not a very pleasant sight for visitors. This replacement seat seems to be made of dense particle board so it has a more wood-like feel and weight. Definitely not cheap plastic. The main thing is that it fit and the color matched perfectly.

Just bought this toilet seat in October. And already there seems to be fading on the underneath area. Not very happy
