Great struts/easy to install
Watched a video on YouTube on how to remove old ones from a Sante fe 2014 sport and reinstalled these. The package was opened by someone else but the compressed strings were unused/not tampered with. Perhaps the package had been sliced open by someone unintentionally (I, myself, did not use a blade). Easy to install with a small flat head screwdriver to loosen/lift the clip. The tailgate lifts fast and with ease now! Such a better price point than going through the dealer or OEM -arts. The 3316 model was perfect for my car.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 - Doesn't look it at first, but they fit.
These WILL WORK with a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 Base (manual gas struts, not electric): Initially I thought these would not fit, because the strut housing doesn't match the OEM housing's length. I decided to try it and despite the difference, they still work perfect. The rear hatch props up high enough, and with adequate force. They have enough force that you only need to press your lift gate activating button and it opens on its own. Installation is easy if you are able-bodied; if you're smaller you may want to have someone help you prop up the gate, or have a tall propping object with you.

So far so good
I thought this would be way harder and more expensive, but it was actually super easy as long as you have someone to help or a ladder to support the back trunk. The only thing I had to do was look a video on how to do it. Instructions we very unhelpful. Thank you YouTube for the help.

Definitely NOT an easy install !
Product itself is very good. Problem is that it arrives compressed with a plastic strap around it that covers both ends. The upper end does not have the receptacle installed. Those are in a plastic bag. The threaded stud to attach it to the piston is covered by the strap. Requires the strap be cut off to access the stud. That allows the strut to completely extend. Which is too far to align with the little ball studs for attaching to the vehicle. It’s definitely not a 10min job ! The compression of the strut to make it fit is not easy. It takes a LOT of pressure to compress it. I wound up using a ratchet tie down strap that left room to push it into place once the proper fit was achieved. Plus you need to be very careful about the strap slipping off the end. The instructions say nothing about what to really expect when you’re installing the new struts. I have had experience with automotive repair otherwise I would have paid someone to do it. I’m sure a learned mechanic would know how to do such a job safely and efficiently. I’m really quite surprised that Vepago and the others are able to sell them without having a more accurate description of what is required for installation of the struts. I would not recommend anyone without experience to attempt this kind of installation.
