So so
I first saw a preview of this show a few years ago at Anime Weekend Atlanta. I was really looking forward to watching this. Sadly, like many other animes, the show is severely lacking thus far. I haven't read the manga but I know it's still being written. Perhaps that's the problem. The studio may be trying to get the series out to the media before there was any good source material so they just started making stuff up.There's too much filler episodes and not enough story/character development. It's too episodic. In fact, by Season 2, I've started watching it on fast forward!Mind you, the animation series I prefer include Full Metal Alchemist and Avatar the Last Airbender. So if you are not of similar interests, disregard this review and give it a try.

Episodes 27 to 39
This set of thirteen episodes of the `D.Gray-Man' is a slight disappointment as while it is still entertaining, the vast majority of the episodes are pretty much just filler. Most of the episodes in this set are one or two episode storylines that have very little to do with the overall plot of the series dealing with things like Krory's first mission as a Exorcist, Miranda getting lost on her way to the Black Order and Kanda encountering a village supposedly plagued by a witch. The series main plot doesn't really reassert itself until the final two episodes and even then they are somewhat different to the events of the original anime. As I have already said, while the majority of the episodes here are filler they are still somewhat entertaining with some nice battles here and there. The episodes also introduce a number of characters far earlier than they are introduced in the manga, such as the Noah Jasdero and Devit and the Exorcist Suman Dark. The animation is generally good and the English dub, while annoying in places, is also generally okay. Overall I think that this volume should probably be given around three and a half to four stars as while entertaining, it isn't a patch on the manga and there is far too much filler.

keep it coming
D gray man has no intention of stopping anytime soon however we may have to wait a while to see episodes 52-101 this is due to the auther becoming ill and not being able to continue the manga for a brief period. The producer of D gray man claimed that the anime was getting to close to the latest manga books and have decided to wait until it is further aheadepisode 27-39 involves the kanda lenelee allen and new excorcists looking for the four remaining generals including allens former master General Cross. Overall a good anime which has comedy violence and a good enough storyline to keep it interesting
