The wood smells great, and there are many different ways to set up the easel depending on how you'd like to paint at the time, from on top of a table or sitting in the grass to standing up. The tray slides in and out easy and is big enough to hold all of her paints and brushes with ease. It's a bit too heavy I think once you have all the paints inside to take it and go for a long hike but that's my own personal opinion.It took a few minutes to learn to set up. I watched a video on YouTube first just to make sure I was doing it right. After the initial worry though it's easy to put up and take down, or to move. I've done it probably 6 or 7 times myself and she has done it even more over the last 6 months and so far I have not had any issue with any of the screws or caps to hold it in place.
