DOVO Buffalo horn Straight Razor

I decided to step up my game and get a "real" straight razor after a year of using one with replaceable blades. After doing a bit of research on what would be required to maintain a straight razor, I was convinced that I could turn my shaving experience into something fun and even therapeutic. Granted, there is a significant expense associated with acquiring all the necessaries (i.e. quality razor, strop, soap, brush, honing stones, etc.).This Buffalo Horn is a beautiful blade that, as advertised, came shave ready. Out of the box and after the strop I had the closest shave I've ever had. Buying a professionally honed razor also means that I don't need to immediately by a full complement of honing stones. I purchased a 12K Naniwa that should keep me in business for quite some time before it is necessary to use a coarser stone.As stated, the razor is beautiful and each shaving experience is imbued with excitement and pride. If you are considering purchasing this razor, go for it! You won't be disappointed!

I purchased this set for 300 dollars. I read the Dovo reviews and expected better. The blade is the only part of this set of any value. The handle, handle linkage to blade, strop, stand, brush and bowl are all cheap and will need to be replaced with other,quality products. Utterly disappointed with this purchase.
