Human-Canine Behavior Connection

I don’t normally review books but I knew part way through I was going to write a review for this book. Human Canine Behavior Connection should be required reading for every dog parent. This book is well written, the author does a great job of putting the information in a way that a pet parent with any skill level would understand and she does a fantastic job of challenging the human end of the leash. This book is going to be a game changer for my dogs and myself and I look forward to watching us become a stronger team applying the techniques from this book. Next up is going back through the book to write down all the get curious questions and answering and processing all the answers. Highly recommend this book!

Guides are helpful.

It is a wonderful refresher as a dog trainerBut especially as a guardian to my own dog,The way Marissa writes is just so humanizing and easy to connect to.Its easy to follow even for those who dont study behavior, but for those who do its like clearing your lense again.

I love how Marissa takes you through this reflective process, and there is room to write your thoughts at the end of each chapter. While I do take notes daily when working with my dogs, this book is very specific to particular events. Not as anecdotal as some training guides, but just enough to not get in the way of what you need to be thinking about in your own situation. This is like having Marissa sitting in your home listening to your issue and devising a plan to work toward your goal.

I found the information in this book very informative.

There are so many nuggets in this book that I refer back to it often. In fact, I pulled it out when we moved into our new place and my dog was introduced to her new pack. The book helped me ID so many behavior queues that I watched in her and the house pack, that I was able to set my girl up for success, proactively meet her needs and honor her voice. Marissa offers such wisdom and insight this is a great resource to have if you want to better connect with your dog.

I loved this book! Marissa Martino shared very valuable information regarding canine behavior. She also stressed the value of the human/canine relationship while addressing various training issues and experiences with our dogs. She described detailed training scenarios for her readers which really helped me to grasp the various methods and ideas that she presented.

I wasn't disappointed. Recommended!
