Their third release is a pop masterpiece; a smart, catchy album filled with infectious songs from start and finish. It recalls the clever pop of such iconic records as Weezer's BLUE ALBUM, combined with a sophistication and haunting honesty that puts them in league with indie auteurs like Death Cab for Cutie. Produced by Fountain of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger and former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek.

more than worth the wait
I've had MCS previous cd for awhile now just waiting for a new one to strike. It has and i;m loving the direction this time around. It has more of a personal touch to some of the songs. They still have the kick and style that they had in their previous effort. But MCS still knows to amp things up and add a little bit to their sound for the newer crowd that might not know. They won't be under the radar anymore with "Even If It Kills Me". They will killing them at radio and retail before too long. I like they are releasing "This Is For Real" as it is one of my favorite songs on the cd. I'm finding it a bit more that artists actually releasing where just about every song on it. Can be a single at radio but works great even if that doesnt work out as is the case with MCS' lateast release.Fan of: Fell In Love Without You, This Is For Real, It Had To Be You, Last Night, Can't Finish What You Started and Hello Helicopter. This stand out for me as the rest of this works out great much success and more fans will be the outcome after hearing "Even If It Kills Me".No doubt.

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER. OF ALL TIME.
This review is a little biased, as this album is one of this reviewer's favorite albums of all time. When I discovered this album, I wasn't a huge fan of the band, but that quickly changed based solely on this disc. It is wonderfully mixed and balanced, and the flow of songs is wonderful- the pace changes nicely and at just the right times- from fast and in your face, to playful and cheery, to a bit more emotional and heart-wrenching, back to fun. I can go on for a LONG time talking about this album, its seriously that good. Get it, you won't regret it.

Awesome!
I purchased this CD after my original copy was taken back by an ex-boyfriend. I never thought I would be able to find it again since it was so old, but I did! It was so cheap and brand spankin new.

More Motion
I started listening to Motion City when I was in college. This album is a good transition from their early work. Still upbeat but also with mellow sections.

Fantastic album
This album is great, I bought it only knowing a single song from it and its since become my favorite. Also, if you're interested in it, I also reccommend "my dinosaur life".

The Key(board) to my Musical Heart
Fantastic album chock-full of depressingly, up-beat anthems of love and love lost. Four stars because the pressing on this particular vinyl is sub-par and struggles to complete a go-round without skipping on various songs. Either way, Justin Pierre and the boys’ subtle reminder of how the ups and downs of life can be captured in a mere 3 minutes of keyboard-infused, highly addictive tunes, is a comfortable realization. Plus, well, his hair. Need we say more?
