TR Industrial FX Pro Series Measuring Wheel with Soft Grip

This measuring wheel is definitely a "keeper". It gives repeatable readings over rough terrain. I used it for measuring a large grassy lot, and also for measuring a rough outline of a proposed driveway over a bumpy grassy area. The accuracy is pretty good-- my repeated measurements gave results that were always within a few inches of one another. Works on bumpy grass and also on gravel. Folds to fit into carry pouch. I looked at the many offerings on Amazon, and I could see that the lower-priced wheels consistently had lower ratings due to accuracy issues. So, I opted to go into the mid-level priced wheels. This one had great ratings and was not too expensive. Also, it gives readings in feet and inches. This makes it so much easier than having to convert from decimal readings in feet -- as many other wheels require.

this is a great little device. Very accurate and easy to use and it is built well. I'm so glad I purchased it as it has saved me from over purchasing large gage electrical wire that is not cheap. I've measured several times and always within a foot or two over a 400 foot run and checked and checked with a 50 foot and 100 foot tape measure and it is always right on plus or minus and inch or two. the kickstand works well too!

This is terrific. Very affordable and easy to use. Comes with a carrying bag, and a folding handle. Seems to work well, and appears to be well made. I'm glad I trusted the other positive reviews, and went with this model. It's perfect for home use, around the yard for measuring out garden beds and such.

This is a great measuring tool overall. I use it to lay out striping in a parking lot and also use it to section off areas for a dog show. Because of the large wheel, it works well over rough ground that would stop those with smaller wheels. HOWEVER, you must go easy on the reset lever!! Internally, there is a rather small key on a rather thin hollow nylon shaft that is VERY EASILY BROKEN if you are hasty with the reset or put too much pressure on it. When that breaks the unit is completely useless because the internal gears are no longer held properly in place. I was able to repair mine with some soft aluminum wire carefully wrapped around that hollow shaft and some glue, but many out there might not have the expertise or the desire to do that. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture before the repair, but you can see the repaired area on the right hand side of the picture, it is the white shaft with a lever on it right next to the black support. I would suggest to the manufacturer that the key be made longer or that area of the hollow nylon shaft be made stronger. With that design defect, I can't really call this and "Industrial" product.

Got this to help plan outdoor projects and it works great. Much cheaper than other alternatives. Seems to be very solidly made. I won't be using it commercially / for real estate so I won't be able to assess it on a frequent-use basis. I was concerned since the stated size of it seemed to indicate that I would have to stoop to use it but that is not the case. I am about 6' and using it was no problem. It folds compactly and has a nice storage bag. Overall, highly recommended.

I run a fencing company so it is vitally important to get good measurements when I'm doing bids. I've spent three times as much on different tools that did not work as well as this one does. I bought it as a spare, but it is now my main source for getting my measurements. It is built well, and the fact that it will fold in half and fit in a storage bag is even better. Highly recommend this product.

Wheel cover was broken out of the box. (See photo). It's still functional and seems to work well. Haven't been able to check for accuracy yet but other reviews seem to support that claim. The portion where the device arm clicks into place when folded (See photo) doesn't hold well. In other words, if you carry it by the handle while it's folded it tends to pop open and swing loose. This is an annoyance for me because I carry this device up and down ladders to measure roofs.

I really like this measuring wheel very much. Some reviews say it's flimsy, I cannot say that. I also like that it is mechanical and not electronic. I have an electronic one, yes, you can do all kind of fancy stuff with it, also switch between imperial and metric , and it remembers distances, and you have a light, which you actually need because the numbers are not easy visible. Now this one does not measure correctly anymore, I guess because of weak battery, and you cannot exchange it!!?! I ordered this mechanical wheel, and I really like it, and there is no battery to deal with. The numbers are easy to read, and when you need metric, ok, then you have to convert it, no big deal!! And when you need to measure different distances then I have to take a note pad, also no big deal, did that with the other one as well. So altogether I am very happy with it and the price is awesome! I can strongly recommend it!

Easy to use, does the job as it should. seems to be accurateand it’s well priced. The quality is great, and it’s study. The option to fold it down and tuck into the bag provided makes it easy to take to job sites. Overall very happy with the product and I would recommend it.

A great product, very happy with the purchase. The unit comes with a very large counter which you can reset with your foot. Its very well built and it even folds to make it smaller, the handle in the photo slides up to expose a hinge which allows it to fold. The price was 50% less vs a similar product at Home depot. Arrived at my house in two days, how can you beat that!!!!

It's perfect for the home owner or someone that doesn't need to use it constantly. People are commenting about the folding portion being flimsy, but as long as you're careful when folding it, it's a non-issue. The large wheel is great for use on rugged terrain.
