BAZIC Jumbo Colored Craft Stick, Assorted, 100 Per Pack (3434-48P)

Given it 4/5 stars because one of the sticks came broken.

I put Velcro on the ends of these, following instructions from a Pinterest post. I gave them to my two-year-old grandson and he loves them. We can make some shapes and letters, and with a little imagination, animals and familiar objects. It’s a great fine-motor development activity. The sticks are not super thick but so far they’ve held up to him pulling the Velcro apart. I also don’t know what kind of dye was used - the colors are vibrant - so I don’t want them in his mouth. For his age I’d say this is only for use with adult supervision.

These craft sticks worked perfectly for what I was looking to do. The color is fairly consistent although there were a few in the pack that had patches where the color didn't stick... and a few of the sticks seemed to have come from a different batch with a slightly lighter shade of blue than the rest. The purple and red were the best of the bunch, the purple dye used is rich and thick... there were no defects on any of the purple sticks as pertaining to the color. The red was also a nice rich color and there were no defects found in the coat. The blue, yellow, green, and orange all showed uneven coverage of dye as well as the dye being weaker and showing more wood grain/splotchiness.

I got these for my granddaughter. I put the round velcro discs on each end - both sides, and used them to "build" things. Make different shapes (square, triangle, etc.), as well as outlines (house, animal, etc.). I saw the idea on Pinterest, and thought it would be fun to do with her. These sticks worked great.

These were used in a project for my daughter. Some of the sticks (3 or 4) were unusable because they had broken somewhere along the way. Also, if you are going to stick velcro stickers on these - be aware that the stickiness of the velcro might cause your hands to be dyed by the sticks. I finished my project with some rather grotesque-looking finger tips. However, it washed off easily and was a product of both items, not just the craft sticks. Still love them and they are easy for my 17-month-old daughter to manipulate because they are larger.

I have not used them yet but they look very bright colored and will surely compliment my garden. I’ll update later.

Like other reviews, don’t let your child get these sticks wet. They stain.

These are typical quality wood craft sticks. The dye does come off on your fingers a bit. I'm not sure if that is to be expected with craft sticks or not but it does concern me a bit since my son is in the "everything goes in the mouth" phase. I've put them away for the time being so he doesn't stain his face and possibly ingest the dye.
