Dangerous Animals (Usborne Beginners, Information for Young Readers, Level 1)

My children love this book! (They love all their Usborne Beginners books.) This book is full of information and pictures of various dangerous animals. Usborne Beginners are very high quality books (hardcover) for such a low price! Dangerous Animals is a great book for inquisitive kids! (It is also a good homeschool resource.)

Page 28 called “animals in danger” is pathetic. The book accuses LEGAL hunters (not poachers) of endangering animal species. In truth, LEGAL hunting helps keep animal population in a healthy balance. Just another attempt to propagandize our children with false claims.

This book is okay with the exception that it depicts a dead zebra that is being fed upon by a family of lions, after describing how the tiger bites the neck and holds it until the zebra "stops breathing." It shows multiple scenarios that are incredibly inappropriate for the intended age range. Who thought this was going to be good for children? It would serve simple 12 year olds or young psychopaths well, otherwise avoid.

We are buying the Usborne books for a 6 year old granddaughter. She loves books and is very curious and interested in the natural world and anything to do with animals. The books are just perfect for her, they are very informative with lovely illustrations. The back page of the first book (Snakes) we sent her showed many more in the series and she was interested in them all so I think we will be buying more and more! We have since sent her 3 more which she loves!

For some reason this title grabbed my little one's attention on the back page of another Usborne title. Obviously, it is a rather captivating cover photo. As they didn't stock this at our local library, I ended up ordering it. It arrived promptly in new condition. The actual content of the book is as one would expect - touching on many themes surrounding "dangerous" animals that inhabit the earth. For a three year old's reading sensibilities, it may be a little advanced but I think it will do just fine in our bookcase for years to come.

The boys who shy away from reading the fictional fairy tales love this book. They read it again and again. Its reasonably informative in simpler words and good language. Enhances reading interests in boys. Seller Feedback is excellent. It came on time and as promised and good condition.

My grandson loves jungle animals at the moment. He is four. He particularly likes the 'cat' family. This is a very factual and informative book. We have both learnt a lot while reading it! It is good value for money. The illustrations are lovely as are the links on the internet.

Good Content. Good explanation with color images. Book quality is excellent. Great learning experience for kids of age 5-6 years.
