Beneath the Moon: Fairy Tales, Myths, and Divine Stories from Around the World

This deck is truly something special. The artwork alone stopped me in my tracks — it’s rich, dreamy, and incredibly evocative, with each card feeling like a small piece of art you want to linger with. Beyond the visuals, the stories woven into the deck are thoughtful, poetic, and deeply engaging. Pulling a card feels less like a quick reading and more like opening a doorway into myth and meaning. What I especially love is the multicultural foundation of this deck. The myths and divine stories come from many traditions around the world, which gives the readings a sense of depth, respect, and universality. It feels expansive rather than limited to a single lens, and that makes working with it feel grounding and connective in a really beautiful way. This is a deck I’ll keep returning to — for reflection, inspiration, and simply for the joy of experiencing it. If you appreciate storytelling, symbolism, and inclusive spiritual tools, this one is a gem.

Beautiful illustrations, interesting stories from multiple cultures. Great to use with the “Tarot of the Devine” deck (see final picture). One down fall is the pages do not indicate which tarot deck card it goes with you’ll have to match the pictures with the deck. However I didn’t remove any stars because this could be used without the tarot, as a good bed time or leisure read.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this book is so well worth it, I’m kind of in disbelief about the price. I bought the tarot deck and decided to say what the heck and get this as well, and I’m so happy I did! The illustrations are gorgeous and seeing them enlarged and with the context of the stories is really wonderful. The quality of the book itself is great; sturdy cover and thick, semi-glossy pages. My only complaint is that I wish there were a page/insert/something to denote which story relates to which card, but if you have the deck or are familiar with tarot you should be able to figure them out easily enough. Not necessary for enjoyment anyways, since the stories and pictures really do speak for themselves. HIGHLY recommend for anyone interested in world myths, illustration, and/or tarot!

Gorgeous artwork, and every card has imagery from myths and legends around the world. The cards are great for beginner and experienced readers. Each card tells a story and has easily recognizable meaning and symbolism. The book that is included with the deck provides minimal information about the characters, symbols and meanings. I recommend getting the companion journal or the book "Beneath the Moon" which is the actual stories of th le myths and legends used for each card.

I ordered a sample of the Kindle version first to see if the images looked good. They were beautiful (and large even though my Fire tablet isn't)! I then ordered the Tarot card deck as a gift but the recipient said that the images were too small to be seen clearly so the Kindle book would be a perfect companion! The colors complement each other well; they are stunning in both the book and deck of cards. The tales are quite interesting as well! These were extremely satisfactory purchases! Highly recommended!

I purchased the related tarot deck and loved the cards and though the included LWB hinted at the accompanying tales, I just had to get this book to find out the stories behind the fantastic art. I love having larger versions of the arts and knowing the full stories helps in both connecting with and reading the cards. The book is high quality with crisp printing on good paper. The stories in some cases are a bit succinct and some definitely could benefit from being drawn out more, as each story consists of just two pages (one for the art and one for the actual story) but it captures the essence of each fable well enough. My one major complaint (and the reason I deducted a star) is the stories are not arranged in the same sequence as the deck and seem to be in no particular order. Therefore, if using with the deck, looking up the story for the card(s) drawn is rather complicated. If one doesn’t immediately recognize the story portrayed on the card (many will probably be familiar but many more will not be so) they then must refer to the LWB (as the story is not referenced on the card by name) and then go find the “full” story in this book by using the index in the back where stories are listed by title and then turn to that page. This would have been so much easier if the stories were organized in the same manner as the deck. It is still though a very good purchase and necessary to fully appreciate the deck.

I purchased the digital version of the book as a companion to the deck made by the author. It was an wonderful introduction to tales from around the world. The illustrations are beautiful and the each of the stories are a simplified summary of the tale. This was like an appetizer that makes you crave the full meal, it was just enough to send me searching to find copies of the whole stories. As a companion book with the goal of giving deeper meaning and context to the artwork it's fantastic.

A arte é linda e o material de ótima qualidade! Para quem se interessar, há o livro vendido separadamente em que o autor descreve com mais detalhes as 78 histórias que compõem o trabalho.

J'adore le dessus des cartes en imitation toile, comme les tableaux. Les illustrations dont les couleurs vives et les rappels des contes sont superbes.

The art is beautiful, and the stories are anecdotal they don’t go super into detail but they’re good for an overview.
