A: This pump contains 10.5 ounces of dialetric oil.  It is harmless to humans, but can cause a film on ponds that can suffocate wild life if the seal should fail.  If you are looking for pond pumps, please find a selection of pumps here:

Good pumps that do the job. My advise is to keep the screen on the pump inlet so you won't get dirt into the pump, which I have had to take apart the pump impeller section due to metal chips or mop strands getting into it. Impeller area is outside the motor (sealed) area so you won't compromise any seals. 3 screws and you are in. Very easy to clean. Self priming, it does a great job.
