Good quality, seals well, quiet!

It does everything I need and works well. But the motor get hot and stay hot when it open. I‘ll worry about it might broke soon or have a safety issue.

I just installed this in our HVAC system. Our children's rooms would get too hot in the winter with the heater on, with the registers closed the rooms still got hot and the registers were noisy. I installed the damper and adjusted it to restrict the air flow down by 80+% and now the rooms stay comfortable with the heater on. When the AC it turned on the damper opens fully to give the rooms maximum AC, something they need during the summer. This unit worked great, it was very reasonably priced and for what I needed it worked perfectly. Some have commented on it being cheaply made with plastic parts but for what I needed it's perfect and I don't have any concerns about it holding up in a residential application.

I ordered two of these dampers for a remodeling project. Typically these are things I would just pick up at a big box store, but with the holidays in full swing I didn't want to have to make a trip so I ordered online. Both arrived in a timely fashion, however upon opening the packaging I discovered that one of the two units had already been opened and installed. Upon further inspection I realized they were both missing the 24 volt transformers. I reached out to the company right away, and haven't received a response to this point. I ended up opting to just dump the extra cash on getting another transformer rather than going through the hassle of returning these. With the newly purchased transformer, both dampers work perfectly and operate nice and quiet. If it weren't for the issues with the transformers being missing it would be an easy five star, but instead of paying the advertised price i had to pay an extra $40 for additional transformers.

Does the job

Excellent quality and functionality. This is a great product and will not break the bank. I love the simplicity of the device and I am sure maintenance will be easy to perform.

I have actually purchased several of these in various sizes for zoning my supply and returns on my AC in the house. You absolutely will not find a comparable product for the money. It works as well as any other damper and even comes with a transformer, which you will not find anywhere for anything less than twice the price. I have no trouble actuating 3 of these in parallel off a single zone on my Taco zone controller. I haven't used the transformer because I have no use for it in my setup, but I assume it works fine. You could probably use it for a doorbell power supply as well if you needed one. Bottom line is that this is a great buy for the money and there's no need to spend much more on any other zone damper. I'd buy this again.

I am using this as a make up fresh air intake for a high volume kitchen hood fan. It activates the duct when the kitchen fan goes on to avoid Carbon monoxide issues. Easy to install and worked perfectly.

Connected it to my fresh air intake on our home ventilation system, works excellent.

The damper itself is good, along with the transformer (if you use it), but the spring loaded terminal block is junk, it does not provide enough clamping force to hold the wires. My other suncourt damper has screws to secure the wires, and at this price, that is what I expect. -1 for the spring loaded terminal block, and -1 for the price.

I have this powered damper installed in an outside air intake feeding into the furnace cold air plenum. Without a damper, cold air flows into the furnace and out a air intake in the basement. Not good in Ontario winters. The damper is powered by a 24VAC feed off of the furnace that is only powered up when the furnace fan is running. The powered damper worked flawlessly for the first few weeks. However, now when the furnace comes on (and 24VAC powers up), the motor on the damper buzzes and there's no movement for the first 5-10 seconds of operation. Finally, it quiets down and opens the damper. That doesn't bode well for the future reliability of this device.
