for width, these work great. My little toe is now happy.
I now know that my foot likes my correct length in Wide or E width, or else a half size longer in D. But the half size longer isn't exactly right either. I have the same shoe in, Santoni Brendan, in Black, 10D (which is comfy but slightly too long) and Brown, 9.5D, with is correct length but too narrow. Good leather. Worth saving. The black has always felt great, the Brown fit me better except for my little toe rubbing against it ... but not enough to make me throw them out, just enough to make me not wear them much anymore.. I am not trying to lengthen the shoe, just make room for my little toe. And this stretcher worked great fort that. How I did it: I added the black knob into the hole hole furthest from the front, and inserted the stretchers. First though, I took a cap full of rubbing alcohol and 3 capfulls of water into a little mixture... took a cotton ball and rubbed a little of that alcohol/water mix onto the spot on the shoe where my little toe rubbed. Both outside the shoe and inside. Then I inserted the stretcher... even without turning the widtch knob, that spot on the shoe was bulging out when I put the stretcher in. Still, I turned the width knob like 3 or 4 turns. I did not turn the length knob much at all, just enough to press the stretcher into my shoe as far as it could go. Next morning, these 9.5D are just as comfortable as my 10D, but also slightly better fitting in terms of length. I have read that all stretchers generallly do much better with width than length, and this makes sense ... you can't stretch a leather sole, and the upper is stitched to the sole, so yeah, the shoe isn't going to get longer, if at all, but width, yeah this brand of stretcher and I assume all stretchers are fantastic. PS I called my local shoe repair and they wanted $35 per pair of shoes (I live near the ocean, so everything is expenwsive relative the the middle of the country). I have two pairs needing more room for my little toe, so that would have been $70 plus the hassle of turning them in and picking them up. This was under $20, and would work for a lot of pairs of shoes. Holy cow anything needing manual labor these days costs and arm and a leg... almost cheaper to just buy something new that doesn't need labor. I bought on ebay some $300 wool charcoal slacks for $40, and just shortening the leg with cuffs was $28. Stuff is cheap nowadays, but labor is expensive. But this was a solution so the the manual labor was free (me), and the stretchers cost next to nothing.

Good product and works as advertised
Got these shoe stretchers for a pair of walking shoes that were a little too tight. When I bought the shoes I thought that I only needed to ware them for a while to "break them in". They are a nice pair of Skechers so they weren't cheap, but they were snug enough that they started to make my feet sore at the tight spots after a short time of walking in them. So I purchased this set of shoe stretchers to see if I can make this pair more comfortable. I'm very happy I did! They work great! After installing the nubs in the stretchers corresponding to the areas that were tight on my feet and using them in the shoes, they fit perfectly now. All day comfort! Well worth the purchase price of the stretchers. I've since used them on other pairs of shoes with the same great results. And as a bonus, the seller contacted me just to see if I was satisfied with my purchase and if they could be of any assistance. Nice to know that if I had any problems with the stretchers they would have been there to assist me. They are made of plastic, not wood like some other brands but they are very sturdy and work very well. I really put them to the test when I used them on a pair of leather work boots and torqued them down to get that perfect fit for my feet. They took the strain and had no problems with the tuff leather on the work boots. I do recommend this product! Hope this helps anyone looking to make their shoes more comfortable.

Easy to use without the issues of a wooden Shoe Tret to stretch or widen shoes.
There are so many options out there for stretching and widening your shoes. This is a solid piece that is easy to use with attachments I can use later should I need more adjustment. We used to have an old wooden one, but it became too clumsy to use. This is an easy-to-use, good-quality item. I have already stretched and widened two pairs of shoes that I purchased, specifically for this, and it has worked wonders—no more pain after wearing them for a short while. I am happy that it covers the advertised sizes.

Heavy duty and well built Don't let the plastic fool you
I wasn't too sure about being plastic but I do know years ago I had a wood shoe stretcher and it's split. This thing is heavy duty It works exceptionally well at widening the shoes. It does work better on leather than on synthetics. I can get a lot better stretch with these than I could with wooden. I actually inserted a Stick inside the handle to make it easier to turn but to really tighten it down. Would I buy again? Absolutely,But I have the feeling I'm not gonna need a new shoe stretcher for years. Buy them you won't regret it

Good but doesn’t feel sturdy
Overall, I am happy with the purchase but my opinion is that these are good, but could be better. They are made with plastic around a metal-like rod. All the plastic is quite loose around the rod, which I find odd. These are quite easy to use, but every is shaky. After you put the front part into the shoe you get the back part in and then twist to create the tension. Once the tension is there you twist the metal part so that the width can be tensioned as well. The pack includes little pieces to add (kinda look like bunions) to add more width and something for the back/heel area. I did use these and they worked well. When I removed them, the stuff fell apart because I unscrewed too far! I then had to put everything back together and noticed that the front parts felt too loose, so I tightened. After tightened I realized that one of the screws sticks out too far which will Ramsay’s the shoe, so I unscrewed it and things felt loose again. I took 2 stars off just because I don’t think they are made well. I bought 3 at the same time and all have similar experiences. If you’re looking for shoe stretchers, I think these are good and do the job. Do I think there are better ones out there - yes, but for under $20 these get the job done but even if a bit annoying to use.

I find it puts pressure on the toe but for the heal to only puts pressure at the top of my boots. I wish it would do both, I will have to find away on my own.
