Great So Far!
Let's get one thing out of the way- Keratin/Brazilian treatments do NOT remove all curl/wave from hair. Their purpose is to smooth, defrizz, and relax texture. If you're looking to do those things and have some time on your hands, this is your stuff! I began by using Ion's Clarifying Shampoo , washing my hair thoroughly three times with it before gently combing out and drying with a large, round brush and high heat. This is where I saw the most damage occur to my hair (albeit very little); if you have insanely thick, always tangled hair like I do, combing without conditioner or leave-in treatment is hell. Be patient, work in small layers, and you'll get through it. I did this before bed, splitting the entire process up into two days. The next morning, I divided my hair into front and side segments and applied the product as described; in small sections, enough to saturate, but only slightly building up on front of my fine-tooth comb with ran through each section. As others mentioned, the fumes here are awful; the product's smell itself isn't so bad, but the chemical stench sneaks up on you! make sure you're in a well-ventilated room and take breaks when you need them. I allowed the application to sit for about 30 minutes, where it dried to a damp-tacky stage. I followed this with the medium-heat blow dry step, again using my large, round brush to dry the product completely while also removing some of my natural curl/wave. This is the half way point, so celebrate! The next step's the real pain. I divided my now-dry hair into three sections again- back and sides- and enlisted my boyfriend to straighten the back portion, using my digital CHI at 365 degrees. You really need to get that straightener up to the roots and thoroughly over the shaft of the hair for at least 8 passes per section, so definitely enlist a friend to help you. I'm pretty good at straightening my hair by this point in my life, but the tiny sections and repeated passes would have been too much for me! Boyfriend did about 12 horizontal layers on the back segment, each divided into 4 smaller groups. I then completed each side on my own. As mentioned, you'll want to make at least 8 passes, or until the chemical no longer smokes on your hair. The entire flat ironing process probably took two hours. Although the bottle and videos say it can be washed out next day, I left it in for 36 hours and even tied my hair back loosely at one point without issue (working out with my hair down is a HUGE no-go). when I did finally wash, I used a sulphate- and sodium-free shampoo and deep conditioner. Here's the real magic: When I got out of the shower, I noticed my waves were far more relaxed than normal. When I began blow dry my hair, I was able to use a paddle brush and only two sections of hair to get a perfectly-acceptable, frizz-free, non-poofy, straight 'do...in about 10 minutes! I finished it with a round brush to add some lift. By contrast, a typical blow-out before took 4 layerings of hair, and 45 minutes of blow-drying using a round, ceramic brush- leaving me with "straight" but puffy, frizzed out hair that needed to be finished with a flat-iron before I could leave the house. My hair is now insanely soft and shiny, as well. Bonus! TL;DR- it's a pain to apply, takes forever, and smells bad, but you WILL have great results if you follow the instructions and invest the time. **UPDATE 8.19.17** It's been six months since I applied this product, and it's now completely out of my hair. That said, it stayed in completely for about four months before it started to fade. My stylist was impressed; every time I went for a cut and color, she remarked that my hair was so much easier to work with and style. I'd agree! After the product "wore off," my hair went back to its usual curl pattern; no damage or permanent changes to hair texture. Over all, I'd still rate this five stars; although the treatment didn't last as long as a professional one may have, you can't beat it for the price. Make sure you use gentle, sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners. I'll be applying it again in the fall- it's too hot and humid for a day spent with a straightener in the summer!

Great for the Price
I hardly ever write reviews, but this product deserves it. I'll give a full detailed account of my experience: MY HAIR: I am Polynesian-Italian, so I have incredibly thick, medium length, wavy/curly, course hair. My hair takes forever to style, is stubborn, always needs a ton of styling product, can never just get up and go. I had been getting blowouts professionally, but stopped about a year and a half ago because the price is just too high. Since then I've been trying ones to do myself, ranging between Cappola to Organix, but everything 'til this has been a disappointment. I was skeptical to buy this because there were so few reviews, but most of them were good, so I held my breath and bought it. PROCESS: I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo THREE TIMES; blow dried my hair on medium heat; sectioned my hair and added the product (I didn't have a brush so I just used gloves and poured the treatment into a small bowl)-this part was a little tricky at times because my hair would start to dry a little after adding the treatment and I was unsure if I added too little. I went over those spots, but if you do NOT have incredibly thick hair, I wouldn't recommend that for fear of over saturation; I brushed my hair with a fine tooth comb constantly to even the distribution; let it sit of 30 minutes; blow dried again on medium heat; straightened (in the bathroom with fan, open window, plus an extra fan I brought in blowing directly on my face) about 1 in. x .5 cm of hair at 450ºF and STRAIGHTENED EACH SECTION 7-10 TIMES I wouldn't recommend 10 times if you don't have strong hair, but like I said, I'm Polynesian-Italian, my hair can withstand anything. From start to finish, the process took me about 4 hours. RESULTS: I waited 4 days to wash. During the time my hair looked normal, not oily or greasy. It felt smooth and mostly soft, but if you ran your fingers through it, it did have a slight filmy texture. This was completely bearable, I went to work before washing it out and I didn't look grungy at all. After washing, I let it air dry, which is a scary thought because if I do this, I usually look like Tina Turner. It took awhile for my hait to dry because it's so thick, but the results were incredible. My usually unmanageable hair dried almost entirely STRAIGHT AND SOFT. The ends had a slight poof to them, but almost NO FRIZZ. I couldn't believe it. This has cut so much time out of my morning routine. When I style my hair now, I do have to do a few touch ups with the flat iron, but his usually only takes 5-10 minutes at most (before straightening took 1.5 hours!!). I also have enough product to do the treatment again. CONS: The 2 day free shipping was great, however when I received my bottle, it had opened and about a teaspoon of product had spilled in to the shipping package. But to put it into perspective, receiving messy package immediately annoyed me and so I expected the results to be nothing to mediocre at best- which luckily wasn't the case. So despite this happening, I still rate 5 Stars. There were fumes, my eyes did get a little irritated and watery-but this is expected. The same thing happens when you get it done in a salon. When my eyes became too itchy, I just took a few minutes to step out. No scalp burning/tingling. I have asthma, so I tried not to breath it in as much as possible, and had a fan blowing directly at my face, but overall this did not bother my lungs at all. FYI: It's been almost a month since I did the treatment and results are still about the same. My hair does have a little bit a wave coming back, but it's minuscule and actually looks good. I use WEN conditioning cleanser and an inexpensive shampoo from Fred Meyer, both sulfate free. I only use shampoo about once a week, otherwise WEN each shower. Wash my hair about 3 x per week. I know this a super long review, but I'm a skeptic who doesn't believe in most products. This really does work. I will keep using it. I'm incredibly satisfied with the results. I've recommended it to my friends, sister and mom.

If you're unsure...don't be!
Because I have a personal vendetta against unreasonable pricing, I refuse to pay for any type of beauty service that I can do myself. I live in New York City, and even with a deep discount I was paying $150+ for a single Keratin treatment. So when I realized I could buy professional grade keratin treatment for $60 off Amazon I figured it would be a great thing to add to my at-home beauty arsenal. Even with the good reviews, I didn't expect this treatment to work as well as the ones I'd gotten at the salon (I didn't want to set myself up for failure by having unreasonable expectations). In fact, this treatment worked BETTER than the salon treatments I've had. I have very curly hair, and so my stylist warned me several times that the salon treatment would only eliminate frizz, but not relax my curls very much. Of course she was right; the first salon treatments I had made my hair slightly less curly (i.e. very wavy), but not straight by any means. So, assuming this stuff would be less potent than the salon treatment, I overcompensated by leaving it on for 48, rather than 24 hours (don't worry, the directions specifically say people with very curly hair could should try this). I rinsed and styled normally this morning and my hair is MUCH straighter than (a) it is naturally (b) it was after the salon treatment. Basically the treatment both eliminated my frizz AND relaxed my curls. To be honest, they're a little TOO relaxed for my liking, so I advise you not to underestimate the strength of the treatment! In conclusion... PROS - Better than salon quality (at least for me) - Easy to comb into hair - Pleasant smell (better than salon version) - Wasn't messy - Leaves hair super smooth - Noticeably relaxes/straightens curly hair - One treatment uses about 1/6 of the bottle, so comes out to about $10 per treatment (I have thick, medium length hair) CONS - Doesn't come with instructions (but you can find them online if you search the brand) - Must buy supplies separately (mask, gloves, clarifying shampoo etc.) WARNINGS/RECOMMENDATIONS - Be extremely careful not to drip any solution onto bare skin; I got a few drops on my neck and the skin became red, dry and itchy even though I immediately wiped it off with a wet paper towel (resolved after 2-3 days) - Try to flatiron in a well-ventilated or outdoor area if possible (e.g. porch, patio, balcony) because flat-ironing released copious fumes - Directions recommend a flatiron capable of reaching at least 410 degrees; mine only goes up to 400 and it worked just as well

It may just be me...
I used this on my hair, and although I am not a professional, I am very hair savvy. I applied the product as directed and noticed that the solution was drying very quickly so there were a lot of spots that I was not sure whether they had dried, or if I just hadn't used enough solution. I applied more at the ends that looked dry and by the time I was done with my entire head, half of the hair was already dry (which now makes sense why they say wait 20 minutes AFTER the solution dries). My hair is in fairly rough conditions towards my ends because of some bleaching I had previously done, but I had cut off the damage and only "healthy" blonde was left. I used my straightener on 410 degrees and I did the least amount of passes, seven, I noticed my ends were getting REALLY rough. They looked like a hay broom. My hair is very strong and I have always been able to do many treatments to it, so I'm not sure if this is because I applied more solution to the ends. I left it overnight and washed the next morning. PROS: My hair was pin straight. I really wanted straight, non-frizzy hair, which is what I got.... on my "virgin" roots. CONS: I had to cut about 2 inches of my hair (and I have shoulder length hair to begin with, so I was NOT happy), since my ends were SEVERELY damaged. The formula says it's good for damaged hair because it repairs it, but the damage to my hair is pretty intense and irreversible. After cutting my hair, my ends still feel rough and I HAVE to use the blow-drier to fix the ends up so they don't look like hay. It's good though, because it only took me like 10 minutes to style it, but the point of me doing this treatment was to fix my hair up a bit so as to not use heat to cause damage.... STILL caused a lot of damage and STILL have to use heat to style. I tried this treatment on my friends hair who have great, thick, non-damaged hair and theirs turned out alright. I love the results on nice hair, but not so much on hair that has already been processed often with hair dye or bleach. But I may have overdone my ends... So I will keep trying it until I get it right!!! UPDATE: After a month of daily conditioning and washing once a week, the treatment is still holding up. I'm noticing just minimal frizzing and I have about an inch of regrowth that will need to be treated soon. I would say the treatment will last another month and then will need to be redone. So, 2 months of nice hair is definitely worth the price. Since I have short hair I will be able to get 3-4 uses out of this bottle.

MAGIC IN A BOTTLE!
I have tried so many different products to both control frizz and make my hair soft. The ONLY thing that ever worked before was Physique's straightening cream- and they went out of business. I have looked many times at getting my hair relaxed but the reviews were always so mixed or the process was much too expensive. Upon finding this product, I decided the price was low enough to try and most everyone seemed to have good results. My Hair: THICK! I always get comments about how thick my hair is when I go to get it cut. However, the actual strands are fine and break easily. Very frizzy. Wavy. I am of Italian, English, Finnish descent. The Process: It took me about 5 hours or so. I washed my hair 3 times with Suave Clarifying Shampoo. My hair did feel very rough while it was wet, but once I had blow dried it (which took forever) the roots didn't feel so rough anymore, but the rest very so dry and brittle. I put in the product. At first it smelled great, but the more I put on the more the fumes started to burn my eyes and give me a headache. My bathroom is NOT well ventilated at all. I suggest you brush the Keratin on with a hair-dye brush or apply directly with your hands. I first tried to pour it on and it fell right off. I think I may have not put on as much as I should, but I was scared to over saturate. Blow drying took about half as long as the first time. You HAVE to do it in a ventilated area though, unless you do it with your eyes closed and have something to breathe through. I left it sitting for awhile. It recommends 20 min, but I think I left it around 40+. When I straightened it, I had almost no fumes left. I wasn't sure if I did something wrong, but just to be safe, I straightened each bit about 7-10 times anyway. I did it more by feel than by smell. If the hair felt kinda stiff with the keratin, I ironed it more. The "steam" never stopped coming from my hair, but there was barely any coming from my hair at the end. I couldn't believe how straight it was at this point. I realized then how uneven my hair cut was, haha! It recommends leaving it on over night, so I did. It was about a full 24 hours before I washed it (using new Sulfate-free shampoo I bought). The first thing I noticed was after rinsing the shampoo out of my hair, it was SO SOFT. It felt like I had conditioner in it already! Once I conditioned and got out of the shower, I chose to not used any of my normal products (Argan Oil, leave in conditioner). I decided to let it air-dry and see what happened. An hour or so later I was AMAZED. It wasn't pin straight, but it was STRAIGHT! I've never had air dry straight hair in my life! And the frizz is 90% gone. I think I'll always have some due to my hair breaking from constantly being put up in a bun day after day. But still! It's soft, manageable. For the first time in my life, I can literally do NOTHING to my hair after a shower and I can wear it out! TRY THIS STUFF!

Two treatments - first a success story, second a living nightmare!
I have used this product 2 times.... first time was a miracle, second time was a total NIGHTMARE. My hairtype is Curly 3A/3B (pic 1 & 2). To be fair, my hair has not been this curly in a while after years of various treatments and processing. The first time I did my own keratin, the results were incredible (pic 3). I applied it prior to departing on 1 month long trip through Asia, one where I wouldn't have access to my regular hair products, tools, etc. My hair was smooth, frizz-free, and while not pin straight a perfect, long, wavy (straightening / blowdrying would take 1/4 of the time). As far as I was concerned this product was a godsend. Naturally, I was eager to reapply months later. The second time, I applied it approximately 4 months later just as I had the first time. This time around, I shed a lot of hair during the treatment. A. LOT. The bathroom floor was covered. Unfortunately, this continued in the coming weeks. Every day, my hair would come out without any effort at all (when I would comb, shower, not do anything at all!) It only took a couple weeks to notice how much volume I had lost! I immediately saw a dermatologist and she said she saw irritation of the scalp, serious hair loss and that she sees this reaction to keratin treatments all the time (usually after the 2nd treatment). The scalp undergoes too much stress, and while the hair follicle is not permanently damaged, the scalp sheds hair for about a month or so. She prescribed topicort (a topical spray) which, from what I understand, was just for the scalp irritation not the hair growth. Unfortunately there is no quick way to get your hair back. Follow up, after about a month of hair shedding my hair was so thin that I had to chop it to a bob. Even so, it looked flat and unhealthy because I do not have enough hair to make a blunt cut (pic 4). I've been on a strict regimen of overdosing on 'hair, skin, nails' ~ mostly biotin ~ and using conditioning hair masks + henna to thicken my hair. Now, I swear by these natural products. I have seen about 3 inches of growth in 4 months, which looks like frizzy baby hairs forming a halo around my whole head (pic 4). Looking good. I am grateful that my hair is growing back although know that it will not look great again for a couple years. I have come to peace with that. I wanted to share my story for those who are considering this treatment. PLEASE reconsider. There are great, natural ways to loosen your curl pattern and reduce frizz for instance: henna, cassia obvata, saffron which coat the hair much like Keratin (hennasooq is a great online resource). I will never stray away from these natural alternatives again. I wish I had never done this keratin treatment and would do anything to go back to my natural hair. Pictures: Pics 1 & 2 are my hair in it's natural, unadulterated state (minus a red dye), pic 3 is after my first successful keratin treatment, and pic 4 is my hair now. Looking totally disheveled, I know. I apologize for the inconsistency photos - wish I had taken proper before and afters, but I figured they may be helpful no less. Hope this helps!!!

LOVE IT !!!!!
I love it :)))) I was so scared to try it based on one review which said her hair was fallen and she had some sort of scalp burn/irritation, but several great reviews made me go ahead and try it because I was struggling with my hair, having my hair be done is my every day nightmare. The frizz is killing me and the dryness as well, it took me forever to blow dry it in perfect way, I was always the last to be ready between my sisters, especially living in area where it is humid all summer and raining most of winter. I have tried salon keratin once but it is expensive to do it again, I was using other brand from over the counter that gave me partial relief from frizz for couple of weeks but because I know that keratin is the only thing which can solve this problem I started my search to find effective yet not much expensive brand. I used this product as directed, I watched couple of YouTube videos. For me the product smells good didn't cause any irritation to my eyes or lung, I was very careful and I used mask when dry it, I did blow drying and flat iron parts in the balcony just incase. I left it for 48 hours or so before washing it, I am AMAZED with the result, truly didn't expect I will get such a result , hair extremely soft, no frizz and soooooo easy to blow dry. I am so happy it works for me I was really afraid I will be disappointed. My sisters also want to try it too. How long it will last, I don't know yet. Will update my review when I know :) I still have enough product for another treatment UPDATE after one and a half months: Well the above mentioned results lasted for exactly one month, afterward my hair is starting to have its original character though the waves are still larger as post treatment but the hair quality is fading no longer is as soft and shiny as after the treatment . I was running today and there was some drizzle I noticed my hair also started to frizz. Honestly I had once professional salon keratin treatment and my results didn't last long as far as I remember it was like this time. I'm not sure if it is just my hair quality. I will keep the five stars for these reasons 1- I didn't find any different compared to the salon hair treatment the results in my case were even way better than salon experience 2- it's affordable and a bottle is enough for up to three time use in my case 3- I never ever had such feeling of softness and shininess and I never ever could go out once in my life without doing anything to my hair. For these reasons I will keep using it

Don't be afraid to redo the treatment!
I'm a white girl with very fine but frizzy hair. My hair tends to tangle and damage easily, so I was looking for something that would give me a smooth, blow-dried look without all the hassle and flat ironing. Since my hair is fine and delicate, I was nervous that this treatment might be too intense, or might make me look greasy or damage my hair somehow. The warning not to over-saturate the hair concerned me, so I used a very light touch, only using enough just to barely coat the hair. I was also pretty timid with the flat iron - I didn't realize you'd actually be able to see big puffs of fumes coming off your hair, I thought my hair was burning! So after being so very cautious - big surprise - the treatment didn't take. My hair was back to being frizzy and unmanageable within a couple washes. Since I had read all of these glowing reviews by people who have much more unruly hair than me, I knew it was because I didn't do the treatment correctly. I contacted to the company and they assured me that it was safe to repeat the treatment, and it wouldn't damage my hair in any way. So the second round I went gung ho. I ditched the brush and just used my gloved hands to apply the product to my hair. I applied it quite liberally, from root to tip, but I made sure to comb very thoroughly to remove any excess product. I made sure to rest my flatiron frequently so it would stay hot enough (my iron only goes to 400 so that may not be necessary if you have a hotter iron) and ironed until I stopped seeing visible fumes from my hair. Instead of washing in the morning, I waited a full extra day (so about 36 hours). This time the results were GREAT! It did not make my hair look limp or greasy like I feared, just super soft and shiny and manageable. My hair is not pin straight, but a quick blow dry and flat iron pass makes my hair look perfect and shiny and gorgeous. It's been about a month (washing with sulfate-free shampoo every other day, sometimes every day since I get greasy very easily) and my hair is still smooth and manageable, but I can tell it's starting to wear off a bit. I imagine I will have to do another treatment in a month or so (so about 6-8 weeks total) which I think is fine for the price. My hair is quite long and I think I have enough product left for one more treatment (so 3 total). I love my hair! Edit: I realized I miscalculated when I did the treatment, so this really only lasted for about 5 weeks. A little bit disappointing, but I guess 4-6 weeks seems typical for an express keratin. On the plus side, I did a third treatment and I think I still have enough left to do a 4th. Definitely still worth it for the price.
