Most of these bases are all from the same manufacturer (Jiecang out of China) and are solid performers. I was a bit weary of the curved desktop, but for tri-ply bamboo at the 55" width I wanted, this was a no-brainer at $349.The desk arrived as 2 shipments -- the desktop shipped separately from the base, but arrived at the same time.Installation notes:- Although time consuming (about an hour), assembly was relatively easy. Unfortunately, the supplied 4mm hex wrench was snapped in half. Thankfully, I had a spare on-hand to complete assembly.- Expect to replace all of the wood screws with larger ones. The pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly to mount the base, but the supplied wood screws are 2 sizes too small -- one has already fallen out.- The screws supplied to mount the touchpad controller are way too small to use the pre-drilled holes so you'll need to just screw directly into the bare wood.Desktop:- Here's where things go south for me. My bamboo desktop was very poorly finished. The edges are glossy, the bottom left unfinished, and the top is closer to being a satin finish, but there is all sorts of grit embedded into the finish; some look like bugs. The polyurethane or varnish was not correctly mixed and applied as the entire desktop is textured. I find this to be very amateur DIY looking; something that should have been caught in QC. It may be that this was a fluke, or that the supplier is distributing factory seconds without disclosing this to buyers. I reached out to UNICOO and provided them with photos and video of the problems and have resolved the matter. I plan on having the surface sanded down buttery smooth and re-finished correctly, because like I said, it is truly a gorgeous tri-ply bamboo top.Operation:- Buttery smooth, low hum from the dual motors when operating, very stable.Recommendations:- The only thing I'd like to have seen included would be options for a matching keyboard tray, cable management tray, and controller keypad (only avail in black).- Font used on instructions should be increased by at least 50%. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a good desk but I have some disappointments/annoyances. *by N***K on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2022* I got this desk because it was one piece of wood and bamboo. This was the best price at $400 for a full piece of wood on Amazon that I could find.I'll start with the assembly process. The box with the legs in it is heavy. At least 80lbs or more. The instructions are not the best. It took me 2 hours to put together the legs. I'm not bad at this kind of thing either. There is a horizontal bar that goes across the top where the table sits and there are 4 screws on each side that hold the 2 pieces together. The screws do not have holes to go into the steel... They are screwed right into the metal to 'hold them in place'. This scratches up the steel bars once you have to adjust and readjust to fit the table top. Just wait until for this part after you put the legs on top of the table, then do the screws so you don't scratch it up like I did. You will need 2 people to lift the legs onto the table top.The bottom of my table top came with a couple of scratches, but since it was the bottom and the top was fine, i didn't care much.I haven't done any cable management yet therefore i can't comment on how easy/nice that would look if I used all the zip tie pieces that came with it. You can see in the picture it's pretty messy under there.I have 2, 27 inch monitors on the desk plus the tower and It's comfortable, but I kind of wish it was at least a 60inch width desk.With that say...I measured the desk and the width is 54.5. Definitely not 55.1 as advertised. It is however 24 inches long from the curve, and 27 inches at the hump.The motor is quiet and the desk goes up pretty high. I do like that about it. It feels sturdy and the legs are strong. I think if you wanted to put another piece of wood on top that was wider than 55 inches, you probably could. I think the manual said it can go up to 70 inches.My biggest issue is with the up/down switch. The wood screws that came with it to mount to the table do not fit. The pre-drilled holes are so big that the wood screw just falls right in. Therefore my up/down switch is just sitting on the desk until I find a way to mount it or get bigger wood screws.Overall, i'm happy with it. But, I think if I were to buy again i'll save more money for a Jarvis, or Autonomous desk. The Autonomous desk is only 100$ more. I have used one before and it is the reason why I wanted a standing desk in the first place. This is still a good desk, but because of all 'minor' annoyances I had setting it up and the problems with mounting the switch, plus the width isn't as advertised...I'm giving this 3.5 stars. Since Amazon doesn't allow halfsies, i'll round up to 4... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy and well-priced sit-stand desk! *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2021* I really like this desk. I was bit skeptical with the few reviews at the time of order but I found another desk from the same company that had a lot of good reviews. I chose the bamboo top and am very pleased with it. It's solid trilayer bamboo panel. The finish is a bit glossier than expected and the backside which is unfinished had a lot of the glossy resin dust on it that I had to wipe off.Assembly was a bit haphazard. The holes in the tabletop did not match the frame nor were they in a good position. I moved the legs forward more than an inch to prevent the back of the feet from touching the wall before the tabletop. So make sure to line everything up and check the back before you assemble. It was easy to drill new 1/8 holes where I wanted them and attach the legs.Instructions did not include anything about the operation of the lift controller but it's easy enough to figure out how to set the memories.Overall besides the frustrating assembly, this is an awesome desk at this price point, I think the best on amazon.
