Other reviewers have spoken of the stiff slide switches. This is true.As another person pointed out, the flashlight cases are NOT Aluminum, but molded plastic.The "ergonomic" shape of the light is a styling feature, and probably makes holding it more difficult than necessary. To use one in the "ceiling bounce" room lighting mode as for a power outage requires a cylindrical tube - the pretty round bottoms sure won't hold the lights upright. Fortunately I happen to have a pair of glass vases which fits them perfectly.At this moment one of the lights is undergoing a test to see if the claim of 140 hours is a valid one - or advertising hogwash. Maybe more later...EDIT: The always-on test just passed six days. That translates into 144 hours of continuous running, and the output still exceeds another light I use as a reference. While shopping at a big box store today I ran into the exact same package for $7.99, so I bought another pair of these flashlights.This is probably my last review, for I don't appreciate doing free work for Amazon only to have much of it hidden by the Sensitivity Filter.

These are pretty good flashlights. It's nice that you get two of them, to place in different locations in your home. They have a bright light, and seem to be well made. I would recommend them.

Brightness was ok. Battery life was good but the button to turn off and on is very difficult to slide.

Very dim flashlight akin to led technology from 10 years ago. One bright center dot surrounded by a very dim halo from reflector. Disappointing brightness and not functional. A Coast G10 A cell penlight with an inspectopn puts out more useful light than this D cell flashlight.

great to have waiting in a closet for a blackout. Not really for daily use. but great for the price

We have fairly frequent electrical 'outs' when a strong thunderstorm passes our home, and it is great to have these lights on hand; one in each bedroom so we can walk safely in the house when our power is off.
