I like to have a wide range of brushes to choose from, depending on the look I want to achieve (and my mood at the time). I’m still learning how to make the most of each brush.This is a decent set of 6 nylon brushes, offering a range of sizes and styles. It includes:* 0 - Round* 0 - Flat* 2 - Filbert* 4 – Slant* 6 – Filbert* 9 – FlatI have limited experience with natural hair brushes, but it does seem like nylon brushes are easier to clean. I’ve found that they perform just fine for a beginner like me, and they’re much less expensive. The ferrule on these brushes is crimped down near the brush, as well as near the handle. I haven’t had a problem with loose bristles, and I’ve found that the brushes hold the paint nicely. The handle is smooth, making for a comfortable grip. These brushes have shorter handles (about pencil length), which I find easier to control. I don’t know how well they’d clean up with oil, but the acrylic and watercolor paints wash right off.Also included in this set is a gray soft-leaded sketching pencil. It’s a nice weight for me and I’ve already used it quite a bit.
