very happy and they fit well on the first try
initial impressions are very good. like these so far, but have not hunted in them as yet. this is the first pair of actual "snake boots" that I've owned.I cannot at all support the numerous reviews herein that mention buying a half/one/two sizes larger. perhaps Rocky noted/corrected the issue at some point? I ordered my regular size and they fit quite well. I did order a wider size accommodate heavy winter socks and/or two layers of socks in cold weather and it's going to be just the right amount of extra room for me. the fit on the calves at the top is also very nice, not too tight nor too loose for my tastes. the zippers are also fine; I could see impatience being an issue with them holding up as it's a 16" pull. these zips feel about like the Rockys I wore at Ft. Lewis/Ft. Bragg.the color is a bit darker than pics online, IMO - which is good for me. I'll be in swampy woods most of the time, very verdant green w/dark brown woods and nasty black water. even the leather is a darker brown than it seemed to me on amazon. they are also lighter than I'd thought - yet another plus. as far as waterproof, I think that they'll be fine for reasonable expectations of a zip-up boot. TBH, around here if you're wanting to stay 100% dry all day in the woods and you aren't in waders, you're operating more so with hope than you are a plan.I cannot find anything to complain about with these boots; will update this review if that were to change. for $130, if you think that you have found better snake boots - I'd advise anyone to definitely go on and grab 'em immediately. otherwise, so far I can recommend these puppies.

Quite an impressive boot!
I am not one to write reviews very often, but am so impressed with this product I felt the need to write. Having to order a boot to protect oneself from venomous snakes is not a pleasant purchase, but is needed. I cannot say if they will protect from a venomous pair of fangs, but I can say they are surprisingly comfortable. True to fit of the listed size and the zipper up the medial side makes for easy ingress and egress. The toe and heels is solid and cannot conceive of a snake biting through either. The rest of the boot is a firm, thick but pliable material that I can only hope will keep out fangs. Price is outstanding. If they keep me safe, they are quite a good buy.

Snakes or Weed-eating!
I got these "Snake Boots" mainly to replace some old zip up shin style snake guards that I wore to weed eat my property. We have copperheads (poisonous), but I don't see them when I'm doing my yard work. However, the boots always block the high speed grass, weeds, and other debris that flies toward my legs when I am doing some serious weed eating. These are easier to get on that to remove; that's probably because I'm 71 years old and have never had a lot of flexibility ... but they definitely serve the purpose. The are somewhat expensive, but having steel toes and being waterproof, I believe they will last a very long time.

Good but didn’t fit my feet or frame
They would be a good option for someone a little taller. I’m 5’2” and they hit about mid knee. Too high to bend comfortably. Also the bulky inside zipper rubbed significantly on one side. Would be fine if pants tucked in. The shaft was flexible and more comfortable than the other snake boot I was comparing it to. Both boots were size 8. The Rocky boot was 8W. I normally wear a 7 1/2. This size 8W was massive. I’d say they run big.

Quality and construction of boot and longevity of use
First, I was excited to get these snake boots as I live in an area where venomous snakes are abundant. And zippered boots are convenient. I soaped the zippers upon receipt and every month thereafter. 3 months in (I got them March '24) the left zipper started coming apart down low. Was I happy. No. But I could still use them. And now today, July 20, 2024, the toe on the right boot separated from the sole. Now I've got to try and glue it back. The waterproof on it is say is shot. And these boots haven't been submerged in anything (ponds here have those slithery things in them and I don't walk into them in these boots-they we're not made for that).Needless to say I guess cost for unit versus quality and longevity of the product, now have fallen in line. 6 months and I now have this. Oh, and of course I'm outside my return window. I live on a 40 acre patch farming and raising cattle. They have worn well some wise. And no, they haven't been worn everyday. At first I loved them so much I got the wife a pair, just like mine, to use when she is in the field picking wild berries and checking cattle because I don't want her snake not either. To say I am disappointed after only 6 months of use is on the low end, the high end is is off the chart pissed off.I'd like another pair of boots ( good luck with that thought)

Very nice.
They have a good look, they are more comfortable than I expected them to be. They are light weight, and they fit perfectly. After standing in the water for over an hour, my feet were still dry. Great product.
