44/45 Caliber Brown Leather Gun Holster

Very nice quality and it easily holds my ruger 44 magnum long barrel. The leather is excellent quality and nicely tooled in design.

I finally "pulled the trigger " on this item . I was worried about the sizing. I wear a 32 pants size and I ordered the 40 " holster it's a bit big ,I think a 38 would've been good. The craftsmanship is beautiful, it's put together well. I have a 41 mag. Ruger Blackhawk (6" barrel)and it fits really nice .This is the first western rig I've ever purchased and I couldn't be happier with everything from customer service to fast delivery and quality of the product . As far as the size Ive placed some 1/2 " neoprene foam onto the inside of the belt, 1, for comfort and 2 , for a little help with the fit, It's snug and comfortable . I don't know if this is recommended by the seller but I gave it a shot and will report on how it holds up . The 41 mag shells are a bit loose in the loops but I think they'll be secure enough. I would tell anyone looking for this style of belt to definitely go for it. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and if I ever need another one I would go with this seller and this item , for sure .

*UPDATE* Last update, I decided to keep the larger size. It's all beautiful work and does exactly what I need it to. Just need to form the pistol portion a little better. Also discovered the hammer hook is adjustable. Order with confidence, just order a size larger than recommended. ---- I wrote an original review, posted below. Major sizing problem. I decided to move past it and order a much larger size, only to find too many issues to keep it. Here's the full breakdown. I'll note I'm a size 36 waist, but fairly slim. Following the instructions I ordered a size 40 - WAY too small, but the gun fit beautifully in the holster. Reordered and got a size 42 - Fit really well on me, but the .45 colt sat in the holster in a bad way, and the loop for the hammer was about three inches too short. Bottom line, while I love the look and the work that went into this belt and holster, it's basically useless. I could sit here and order 10 of them and none of them would fit or work. I ordered a brown and got a black, the sizing is way off, and the quality is way off from one order to the next. I REALLY wanted this to work, but I will not be ordering from this manufacturer again for any reason. *original review* Followed the instructions on the page for the holster, but the belt was several sizes too small. Ends won't even touch. These instructions: Order 4-6 inches larger than your pants size as the gun belt has 5 holes all an inch apart. Example if you wear a size 36 pants then order a size 40 or a size 42 gun belt. The size 40 gun belt will have holes punched from 38-42 inches. I wear a 36 and it's light to loose fit so I ordered the 40. At a 40, the ends are a few inches away still, so I would definitely change those instructions to a 44 or so. Simple measurement means I need 4 more holes to barely make ends meet. If you buy, it's a solid product, just be really careful on size. Returning, not sure if I'll replace or not as I don't want to continue to do this or order the wrong size again - like order a 44 and have it too big

The first thing you notice as you open the package is the unmistakable smell of genuine leather. In my case, that alone brought a flood of childhood memories. Then you feel the leather as you extract this from the package - and it feels…right. Thick, well-tanned and a tiny bit too stiff - exactly as a new product should feel. Next you see the craftsmanship. Studs and other hardware are properly applied, clearly by hand and not by some robot. Tool marks are excellent and color is perfectly imperfect, with the slightest variations that come from - again - application by hand rather than machine. It fits well, is sized great for either a replica or authentic Colt 45 in the old-west style, and offers enough adjustability to hang right where it should hang. Do he sure to add 4-6 inches to your waist size! Ammo loops are also sized perfectly for my needs. Every detail is spot on. This is an unbiased and unrewarded review, and I will summarize by saying this holster delivers what I paid for. I will buy from them again but not for this caliber, because this one will last my lifetime. Whether I am riding a trail, or simply paying homage to Marshall Dillon on Halloween, this thing rocks!

A great gun belt. I've been looking forward to getting this type of belt for a long time, and found this one. Based on the reviews I bought it, and it is definitely worth the price. It is Mexican made, and for those of you who know a little about leather, you know that Mexican handcrafted leather work is some of the best. The bullet loops were a little bit loose, but not so bad that I am afraid the bullets will fall out. I debated how many sizes to go up, and based on other people's reviews I went 6 inches above my pant size. This was a mistake. I am 6' 190 lbs, and I wear a pant size of 36. I should have ordered 4 inches bigger, then I would probably be tightening it to the second to last hole. As it is, I am tightening the belt all the way to the last hole, and it still is in danger of falling down (especially with a .44 Mag with a 6 inch barrel, lots of weight there). It was my mistake, so I'm not going to base my overall review on that. So if you wear your pants a little looser, go with the recommended 2 inch increase, or maybe a 4 inch increase. If I had a reason to, I would definitely buy this same holster. I am very pleased with it, and it seems sturdy enough to last for many years. Edit 11-19-15: I took some of the ammo or of the loops the other day, and found corrosion on the cases. It is obviously the chemicals used in the leather finishing process, so just be warned not to leave ammo in it for months at a time. (I estimate the ammo had been in there for 5-6 months)

What great craftsmanship. I would have never guessed it at the price point. It is worth way more than I paid.
