As Cesar Milan says, a backpack on a dog gives them a job and helps tire them out. Our young boxer/pit has boundless energy. A 30 minute hike with this backpack settles him down. Plus it's less for us to carry! The backpack can hold a bottle of water on one side, snacks and a people windbreaker on the other. We added a reflective light to the back since it gets dark so early. Highly recommend.

Loved handing off some of the weight to my dog. Finally, he gets to carry his own weight! Only reason I gave a 4star is because the front straps weren't holding. They kept coming loose to the point they came loose from the hard plastic bucket they're looped through. I remedied this by tying a knot in each of them. However, if I needed any more slack for, say, a larger dog, this wouldn't have worked. Otherwise solid product for the price.

I got this for my male service dog. It was exactly what I needed. His old vest was too high and getting a little small. I first tried this out on the day my car died. I only had a small purse so the pockets were a life saver. The car had to be towed, so anything I needed to take with me filled his pockets. The handle is easy to grab and hold onto. I don't use the clip on the harness for my leash but it is perfect for my inhaler's carabiner It sits far enough on the back to help with balance but not so far back that the strap covers his wee wee. I will be ordering another for my other service dog because I am impressed with the quality and the durability of this. I'm not saying your dog can chew on it and it won't break. I am saying this is one of the best pocketed vests I have ever found. Would recommend. Warning it can be a little scary to your dog at the beginning so let them get used to it. Their head has to slip into it then you Velcro and buckle on waist. If you dog isn't used to the sounds it can be jarring so let them hear, see and smell it so they know it won't hurt them. Just my advice.

Looks great, seems sturdy

This is a great hiking backpack for my dobie-shepherd mix. She’s big and a serious hiker (think in creeks and rivers, climbing rock scrambles, in brush). We have had countless hiking bags break on Her. This one stood up for a long weekend which included of hours of hiking. She seemed very comfortable in the pack and put her head right thru to put it on. I think it should hold up nicely!

We took our pup out deep woods camping & he carried a decent amount of things in his little back pack. Make sure the straps are tightened exactly right or it’ll just fall to one side.

Seems sturdy enough. I'll do a more in depth review after we've used it a few times. Dog loves it LOL, I started getting her used to wearing it and will start adding a little weight in a week or so. Getting ready to hike the Appalachian Trail next year. I'm pretty sure that will be the make/break event so stay tuned and we'll see how it holds up.

This is exactly what was looking for. Lightweight and really spacious. Shelby is 66lbs and a large fits really well. Can be easily adjusted to be tightened and loosened. It’s comes with two removable Velcro “service dog” patches. I assume it’s comfortable as she moves around fine in it without any “complaints.”

The media could not be loaded.  This is the best harness I’ve ever bought. It is very adjustable, and I could tell it would fit much larger dogs, but also adjusts snugly and comfortably for my medium sized pooch. It slips over the dogs head, with a padded adjustable chest strap that sits below the neck, actually on the chest. The undercarriage belt has a loop and hook padded strap, with a clasping belt over top, like a comfortable workman’s belt, or hiking backpack. The emergency handle on top is great, and the leash ring seems very sturdy (though not metal), they both sit well back from the neck, It’s amazing how unrestrictive it seems. My dog also carries her own ball/chuckit, poop bags, water, and she will carry her own food when we go backpacking this summer 🤠 check out the video I posted to see how the pack performs when she chases the ball. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the pack, and my dog seems to like it, even though she has hated all other harnesses and promptly removed them (or attempted to), this one stays on, and she doesn’t try to take it off, at all. I’m just honestly flabbergasted at how good this is. If you’re thinking about it, just get it, there’s no way there’s a better one.

My husky has discovered how to escape this harness. Great for carrying things but it's not waterproof and gets smelly when wet (wet dog smell)

The media could not be loaded.  bought this backpack for my 85 lb golden doodle for hiking and to help him lose a few pounds ( as recommended by a vet). I wasn't sure about the fit from what it said online but it's amazing! the quality is very nice and it's quite sturdy. the pockets have ykk zippers and all the buckles are sewn well and seem very durable. is recommend this backpack to a friend. I've attached a video of my dogs first day wearing it and as you can see it's very comfortable and he didn't think twice about it.

Very nice backpack for my pup. We're both pleased. She's a 60 pounds German shepherd, a very petite and slim one and the bag is perfect for her, I was able to adjust it for a very good fit!We also already have a collar from the same company so I'm hoping that the sturdiness will be similar!
