A super super-automatic espresso maker
I owned a DeLonghi espresso maker for almost a decade and used it to make myself a latte every morning as a little wake-me-up before work. It worked mostly fine, but the steam wand busted about 4 years ago so I bought a separate milk frother to use instead which meant I had the espresso maker, the bean grinder, and the frother all eating up counter space in my kitchen. Plus it took me a solid 15 minutes to make everything and cleanup afterwards; practically the definition of a first world problem I admit, but still it was kind of a pain. I'd been eyeing the Jura super-automatic units for years but holding off because it's such a decadent expense. Finally this year I decided to pull the trigger during a 10% off sale. Let me tell you, it works like a dream. It's fast, has a small-ish footprint, is shockingly quiet compared to my old machine, and makes efficient use of the beans. Cleaning and maintenance are also made extremely simple and almost entirely automated. And it makes great tasting espresso, so all in all I've been extremely happy with it.That said, you should know what you're getting into if you buy one. Obviously the price tag, even during a sale, is quite high. Don't lie to yourself about how you'll save money in the long run by skipping those trips to Starbucks. It's a high end, premium product and you're burning some money to own it. Also, taking care of it will incur ongoing expenses.Jura intends for users to install one of their smart filters in the water reservoir. It makes the water taste better and prevents mineral buildup on the inside of the machine and also removes the need to descale, but the filters are only rated for 40 liters. That might sound like a lot, but every time the machine turns on and after every drink the machine will flush water through the lines, meaning you'll go through those filters faster than you think. If you make drinks every day, replacing the $20 filter once every month or two is typical.Additionally, if you make milk drinks you'll need to clean the milk system every day using Jura cleaning tablets to prevent dried milk and bacteria from fouling up the system. A 30 day supply runs $30, so with the filters you could be spending as much as $50/month just to properly maintain everything. Of course, you could skip some of this, but doing so might shorten the lifespan of the machine, and given the price tag to buy one that might not be the cheapest route in the long run.Jura is also big on the expensive accessories: everything from a $40 glass milk carafe on up to hundreds of dollars for a refrigerated container to a $30 steel cable to cover the milk tube (which is purely for aesthetics) to a $40 wireless transmitter that allows you to order drinks from your phone to expensive cup warmers, etc. The bottom line is that yes, the Jura ENA 8, and probably all of the high end Jura models, works amazingly well and is super convenient, but really you're just kind of trading money to get more of your time back in the form of convenience. Depending on your situation that might be a worthy tradeoff, but go into it with your eyes open. It makes a great tasting shot of espresso, but so do machines a quarter of the price; they just won't look as nice or be as time saving and easy to use.

Broke after 6 months and Jura will not respond to warranty claim
It broke after 6 months. I contacted the seller and they said they only provide a 30 day warranty. I contacted Jura. The phone number makes you leave a message and no one calls you back. It's been 2 months of emailing them and leaving 6 messages with no call back. If you buy a Jura product, get it from Costco or a place that is easy to return because the Jura customer service is awful.

Amazingly Mighty
I have not drank so many coffees drinks since I was stationed in Europe. My first test was a regular Macchiato. I set it to 2 oz of espresso and left the default of 6 seconds for form. I placed a small spoon full of sugar on top of the foam and it held. slowly dropped into the espresso. The Espresso is creamy. I am quite pleased. Even the long coffee tasted so much better. I have a french press, K-Cup machine, pour-over, and drip. The ENA 8 simply consolidated all my variety of coffee makers into a one-stop shop.I truly am enjoying drinking coffee drinks againProgramming easy.Maintenace easyLimited cabinet space (the smaller you go the more expensive for a fully automated)Not worried about steam ruining cabinetsPerson con temperature for me could be 3 to 5 degrees hotter..... no biggy, especially with 1 to 2 oz espresso drinks they do not last too long.Cons Many of the reviews I have read are from individuals that did not research and expected a barista to come with the ENA 8.Keep it simple and tasty.Enjoy

Easy to use. Best coffee/espresso ever.
Yeah, it's a lot of money but totally worth it. We were visiting friends in Vienna and they had this model. We couldn't believe how much they paid for it but after a week of using it, we were like we have to have this. We have not regretted yet buying it. So great having quality coffee/espresso drinks. Super easy to use, this machine walks you thru everything and is self-cleaning. Buy it now don't look back.

Great coffee
I wanted a fully automated coffee machine, that could make espressos. This is a new machine (expensive) so I figured it would be an improvement over older machines. I found it easy to set up and it does make excellent coffee. I have found it very easy to make cappuccinos and flat whites. I make 4-6 drinks a day. This is a small machine, so it is best for making a few drinks at a time. The water supply needs to be refilled frequently, especially if you rinse the milk system every time. The coffee bean storage is also small, so you need to refill regularly. But these are easy to do.The machine does allow some customization of drinks, in terms of strength and volumes, I haven't explored this too much. The machine also uses proprietary water filters and cleaning solutions. So there will be maintenance costs related to that.Overall, a great machine that is easier to use than my JURA unit at work that is 5 years old. It is a small unit but still makes quality drinks.

Second Machine That Would Not Correctly Work
The first Jura ENA 8 that I received worked for approximately one week and then stopped. I called Jura and they went through a routine to find a way to get it to work. Unfortunately, it would not and so they asked for me to return it either through Amazon (which was free) or through Jura (which has a charge). Of course, I chose Amazon (which was actually UPS). Then UPS failed to show up to get the item in the manner in which it was agreed. As I was here all day because a signature was necessary my day was wasted because UPS failed to appear for me to sign. Then I had to take a taxi the next day to an UPS office in order to drop off the item. Of course, it cost me money. Then I ordered a second one and attempted to put it together. The second somewhat expensive machine did not work during set up. Again I called Jura to get help. They could not help me put it together and told me to go through the entire routine I had gone through before in order to get my money back. There is no way I am getting another Jura coffee maker that had lasted me for 12 years for my daily delight. Oh, well. Live and learn.

Jura Ena 8
