If you first coat of finish has and nubs or dust in it the red (600 grit +- ) works nice to smooth everything out as you apply. Great quality ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product *by M***N on November 18, 2013* Bought this and a finer grit also for lathe work. I turn mostly bowls and hollow forms and like to sand to about a 2000+ grit for many of the items for final finish. This stuff is simply excellent. It's much like a green scrubbing pad but of course much finer. I can fold it into a pad and press it against virtually any shape - interior or exterior - and get a very nice finish. And it lasts and lasts. I'm still using the this first pack and have done about a dozen bowls so far. I bought the 5-pack as a trial and on the basis of that, also bought the 2500 grit.
