Great for fans but not likely to win any coverts
As a longtime Tubes fan I loved this DVD (haven't listed to the CD yet). That said, I think it is very unlikely that this video will win any new fans. There are so many superb concert videos out there (Earth Wind and Fire w/ Chicago at The Greek, Jeff Beck @ Ronnie's, Return to Forever at Montreaux, David Gilmour at the Albert Hall, etc) that the production quality just doesn't compare.I was especially annoyed that there is so little footage of Rick Anderson, one of my favorite bassists. His presence can only be heard, he is hardly ever seen, let alone featured. The concert started off kind of slow and uneven and took a while to find its groove, but then again, so do some Tubes shows. I always enjoy them every time I see them, but between fighting format issues with the aspect ratio and being generally displeased with the image quality it took a while for me to settle into the performance but by the end of the show I was a happy camper.Don't get me wrong, the Tubes are one of the best rock and roll bands ever who never fail to impress and entertain whenever I see them play, but this disc is not the best I have seen them and, by and large, it is not their fault...the videographer/producer did not render a very good product, IMHO.I still don't regret purchasing it but I still don't have anything really outrageous to show my friends to convince them they have to come to a show.
