Can be mounted horizontally or vertically, but you have to decide and put the door on the right way yourself. It takes a little force, maybe a rubber mallet. Once you have it installed, it latches and unlatches easily. You can leave something plugged in with the door closed, making a raintight seal. If you want that option, you have to break out a place for one or two cords to go. That is a little difficult and leaves a ragged edge. I used a 1/2 inch round file to smooth the opening so it would not abrade the cord. TayMac makes one with a clear cover, but that one just looks cluttered to me. I can't see any need to see inside.

Perfect to protect a new outlet installed outside the garage. Priced at or lower than my local hardware store & saved me a drive into town. Would order again. Good quality & durability so far. No complaints. Will order again if the need arises.

Purchased these to replace 20-year-old outdoor outlet covers. The package includes everything you may need, the installation was easy. B.t.w, if you're buying these to replace old covers - make sure to also buy new WR-rated receptacles so you can replace everything at once instead of wasting more time on removing these covers again when you'll be replacing your old receptacles at later time.

All (3) of our outside plate covers broke thru out the years leaving the outlet completely exposed. Bought these as replacements and they really do make the outside of our home look finished. We just installed them so I cannot attest to durability in Northeast winters (they are plastic). I also like that they can be placed vertically or horizontally and there are specified openings for extension cords.

This is well built, reasonable priced, with clear videos on how to install, and it was, just like the video showed, easy to install. How refreshing.

I was very satisfied with this product - the quality of the material was excellent and it was very easy to install. As stated in the description, it was easy to paint so I could match it to my house color. Shipping was very fast. El artículo es de muy buena calidad, yo no sabía que existía ni que lo necesitaba hasta que lo encontré por casualidad, lo uso junto a una fuente de agua y es justo lo que necesiteaba para evitar que el contacto se mojara con las salpicaduras.Tiene instrucciones que hacen que no requieras de.un profesional para instalarla.
