Ruskiniana
In spite of all the efforts of many people, Ruskin is still underrecognized (needs a blockbuster movie, I guess). This volume, like many others, is a judicious selection from his vast corpus. It is probably the best on the market. I have a longstanding fondness for the Kenneth Clark selection (which used to be in Penguin, and before that at Phaedon), but this will do.

Great read.
As a fan of John Ruskin I was pleased to find a copy of this at a recent exhibition at the wonderful Turner Gallery at Margate. Just couldn'tget hold of my own copy fast enough. It a readers delight.. If you have an interest in art some wonderful snippets from "Modern painters" and many writing I had not come across before

An somewhat intense read
A very good book, giving an insight into the way John Ruskin viewed his life and his surroundings. It is rather tedious in parts; nevertheless it is a rare commodity these days to find such a write who, I feel, writes in this way.
