Success rate
PICTURE WARNING - CAUGHT RATS I don’t normally do reviews however on this occasion I felt it important to do so because of the success rate. I have three of these traps in an area where there is “rat-traffic”. I know this because my spaniel is constantly sniffing intensely around the area. I use Aldi’s crunchy peanut butter (don’t know if that’s a bonus(!!). I also put a bit of peanut butter inside the tunnel area just before the trap. Definitely recommend following the really clear and simple instructions, as I believe that was a bonus. I actually left mine out for a just over a week, unset but with the bait in it so I could check the bait was being taken and I knew I had it in the right place. I have had three traps down for 6 weeks now and I have caught 13 in total, 3 big ones, and 10 smaller ones, which I think are the juniors. All defo rats not mice. The traps are humane, there is no blood/guts when you release the trap. I actually poked my finger in a set trap (no rat) and I caught my finger in it. It didn’t cut my finger but the clamps when they go down are quick and grip tight!!! It’s easy to remove the rat once caught, you push the “pedal” down on the outside to release the “teeth” from inside, and the rat will fall out. I just put the dead rat in a poo bag and then in the (outside) bin. Top tip though - ALWAYS where gloves when handling the traps and putting bait in. It comes with gloves but I’ve ended up using a pair of washing up gloves which I wash every time after use. Highly recommended - if instructions are followed, gloves are worn and peanut butter used!

Very effective... only one small problem
Delighted with the product, below is my first 2 weeks experience with it. Day 1 - received my pair of traps, (I will call them [A] and [B] for simplicity) , and I put them in 2 locations in the garden along a fence. Day 2 - did nothing as per the instructions for the rats to get used to them Day 3 - I put the included peanut butter in the mouth of the tunnels of both traps Day 4 - did nothing Day 5 - Went to check the traps and found all the bait gone, so as per the instructions I loaded the trap and put the bait in the green bowl. Day 6 - I looked out of my kitchen window and could see the green plastic exposed from a distance [Trap A], excited I rushed over and found my first victim! I held the trap over a plastic bag and pushed the lever to release the rat and it dropped in, I didn't even have to put more bait in as it hadn't been able to eat any. Day 7 - nothing Day 8 - Another catch in trap [A] this one still alive, so had to finish it off with a heavy object (I felt terrible, but chatgpt said it was the most humane way to do it). Topped up the bait with supermarket peanut butter as I found the included one runny and messy to handle. Day 9 - looked out the window and trap [A] not visible, I looked everywhere in the garden and nowhere to be seen 😞 I suspect it got kill #3 and a cat or fox saw it and carried it off Day 10 - Nothing Day 11 - Nothing. So far in 11 days trap [B] has not had any success, I decided to put it in the former position of trap A Day 12 - I find the trap upside-down, and lever has not been triggered, must have been a bigger animal again Day 13 - Nothing. Now 5 days without a catch I start to get concerned... have they become too clever? I decide to put peanut butter in both entrances to the trap Day 14(today) - BOOM! we have confirmed kill #3...or is it #4? To summarise: 1. In 14 days I have had 3 confirmed kills 2. Important to follow the instructions. 3. Don't give up, if you aren't getting any rats you might have to change the position or place some extra bait by the entrance to entice them in. 4. I have sadly had a trap stolen by a large animal, if the sellers would like to send me a replacement in exchange for this detailed honest review it would be much appreciated !😁

Works well for mice and medium sized rats.
Placed Cheshire cheese in this trap. Placed near a wall in the outbuilding and was careful not to touch with my hands as human scent can deter vermin from entering the trap. Caught two rats and 2 mice in the four nights that I put the trap out. Cleaned with antibacterial spray after each capture and left outside to dry each day. On the fifth night I heard the trap trigger at 10.45pm, a massive rat like scream and squealing and the trap being clattered against the wall. Next morning the trap had been triggered, it had moved from the original position it was set in and there was a pool of blood on the floor.....but no vermin. I can only speculate that this was a very big rat and the trap failed to hold it. Good trap, but ask yourself how big your rats are. If big then you may want to consider a more heavy duty trap.

Works great. Does the job. Simple to use, highly effective, instant kill. Highly recommend. Much less harmful to wildlife and domestic pets roaming outside. Easy to verify that a rat was present and got killed. Much better than any poison. And conventional snap traps just don't work even if placed in especially designed bait boxes to prevent danger to children and pets. These newly designed traps are absolutely working and worth the investment.

Fonctionne.
