Nice quality, holds shells firm to tight, no danger of them dropping or falling out
This is a quality made item and worth the price. There is one minor problem. I can't use it, lol. Yet anyway. I had changed my OEM stock and slide to a shurshot thumbhole type, and the slide for this change extends to cover the loading chamber and therefor mounting this would interfere with racking the slide. I didn't dock anything on the rating for this as I don't expect the manufacturer to handle all possible modifications. I will need to decide if I want to hunt down my OEM slide to use with this. I can always give or sell to a buddy (depending on ow good of a buddy he/she is) if I decide to stay with the sureshot forend slide.which I do like.

Back plate stripped and clearly the screws are different and damaged
Bought this thing because I wanted to be able to carry a bit more ammo on me instead of having to hold some in pockets etc. anyway got to the point of having to install it and slid the smaller screw in to lock it down to the plate and did not want to grab removed it and verified the fitment and sure enough was stopped out. The screw slid in and out easy. Also the back plate was wide/ long and covered my trigger on the left side granted, I’m not a lefty however it prevented me from putting my finger through.

As described. Great for the price and fits perfect on my Rem tac-14. Even fits into my Voodoo scabbard no problem.

Defective
Mounting plates are not fully threaded. Mounting screws provided not long enough. Set up in left handed configuration "however" on this can be switched. I bought 8 of these in September and did not try mounting them until today "my fault on that part" and found these flaws/defects. I tried fixing/correcting these defects with no luck. Having to buy/order a different brand. I cannot recommend these. I have been a law enforcement armorer and firearms instructor for over 28 years.

Soft threading.
If you snug the screws the threads in the aluminum plate strip out unfortunately. Works great if it wasn't for that.

Not impressed
Backplate doesn't run flush with the frame of my 870. The shell holder plastic looks and feels cheap. Gonna give it a run, but not holding my breath on it's durability.
