I have to say I'm impressed, it's on the same level as my old Rode Video Shotgun
So I was a videographer for 7 1/2 years and made commercials and promo vids for 4 additional years, on top of going to college for Video Production and interning at a small production company in Tacoma...Long story shot, My main workhorses back then was my Sennheiser MKE-300 and my Rode Video Shotgun. The Sennheiser had slightly better audio but would break ALL THE TIME. I'd go through one a year and constantly try to get them repaired (they never came back 100% even when sent in to Sennheiser). While the Rode still works to this day and it's audio is definitely acceptable. Now this mic, is surprising, what was a $200 prosumer mic, the Rode Videomic, has somehow been cramed into this short shotgun. I just did a test yesterday directly comparing the recordings from both mics at different distances and I have to say, this tiny Neewer mic, the CM14, is equal to my Rode Videomic. It's just as clear, it's pickup distance is the same and the tones match, the only thing that's different is it's tiny size... I have no idea how they did this, but I just ordered 2 more as I'm going to do a live stream this Halloween as my first "serious" production in 5 years. I'm going to mix the place up, run it through my mixer, feeding that into my PC to Streamlabs. For this price it's 10/10, you'd be paying more than 20X as much for a better mic. Buy this and a pair of lapels (wireless if you can afford it), maybe a Zoom 1 or 4 for remote recording and you should be covered for 90% of your audio needs for small productions.

Excellent quality. Instant setup.
Great quality of sound, but keep it within a foot. More than that didn't work too well (in my very limited testing).Extremely easy to use - just plug into the USB port, and you are good to go.I had actually bought a much more expensive ($100+) one from a different brand, which we returned (as it didn't work). Tried this when a friend suggested it, and glad I did.The one thing I wish it had is a built-in stand. Not sure why that was not thought about. I have a tripod which I can use, but would have been nice to get it with the product.Highly recommend!

Doesn't fit without an extra mount
There's no place to put this mic to mount it unless you have an extender piece for your tripod so you can have your camera and mic next to each other. I have the Sony ZV-E10 and while it does fit into the mic jax, it's just usable unless I have another piece of equipment. I was hoping to find a mic that can mount directly onto the camera.

Stunning for the price
Had to return the first, broken out of the box. Second one is just fantastic sound for the price. Worked perfectly with both GoPro and phone. I thought it would need more directional. It picks up sound equally from any angle, so it's really not a shotgun mic. But audio is crystal clear, great sound.

Decent budget mic
I use this with the Panasonic GH5. I love the small footprint and that it uses phantom power, so no batteries to keep up with. And I like that there’s no on-off switch. The audio is good with surprisingly decent low-end pickup. But there is a bit of a hiss that it picks up in recordings, which is noticeable when no other sounds are active.Overall, a good choice for a budget microphone.

Very worth it, big upgrade if you record anything
I work for a school. Since the virus thing started, all lessons went online, which meant I went from teaching kids to learning to doing lighting, recording lessons, and video editing. At first, I recorded video on my phone, but that would mean I would have to edit the audio for so long. There's tons of background noise to remove, sharp noises when my hands move, and boosting the faint voices of the teachers. After we realized these video lessons have to be taken more seriously, I got this and attached it to a new phone gimbal. This is aimable straight at the subject, the windscreen blocks noise, and most impressive - the mic's sensitivity and tuning is great for the subject being three feet away.Even after upgrading to a dslr, I still use this mic for good, clear audio.

False economy - unusable hissing on the audio. Had to buy another more expensive videomic
The media could not be loaded. Whilst it looks the part - shock-absorbing cold-shoe mount, foam cover, "dead cat", phone & 3.5mm leads... unfortunately there is a background hiss and buzzing which makes the audio completely unusable. I wondered if it was my camera (Nikon Z6), and tried various in-camera microphone settings, but in the end I ordered a Rode VideoMicro, and the difference is immediately obvious. With all camera settings unchanged, and just swapping the microphones over, the Neewer is abysmal, the Rode is perfect. It's most obvious on the attached video through headphones. This was false economy sadly. It's taken me a few months to get around to doing this which means my return window has closed and this is off to the waste & recycling centre.

Tremendo. Calidad, robustez y versatilidad. Me encanta !!
The media could not be loaded.

Decent microphone but some issues
NB the lightning cable to connect this to an iPhone MUST be a Apple lightning adaptor only. 3RD party adaptors won't allow you record audio on the iPhone.Oh and also you cannot hear any playback whilst the mic is plugged into the iPhone...this means if you want to use it for the likes of any live broadcast on your mobile, it won't work.Otherwise works ok.

background buzzzzzz
There is always a background buzzing. No matter what you do with the recording levels, or if you try a different cable. It's no good at all.
