So far so good - No issues
This review is for the CO-Z clamshell 15x15 press. This is a press only with no attachments. Just wanted to make that clear because it seems that reviews get lumped together if the seller has multiple type items.I've had this heat press for a couple of months and have done a few projects with it. All have turned out perfectly. At this point, I'm using it for personal use only and it doesn't get a high volume workout so I can't say how it would be for business purposes, but I'm happy with it. I looked at dozens of heat presses on Amazon and read review after review after review. It seemed like every single one had some issues so it was really hard to make up my mind. One of the things that attracted me to this press was the pull out bottom platen. Most of them that I looked at didn't have this feature, and I felt the price and the fact that it was Prime, so I could easily return it if necessary, justified pulling the trigger on this one. I'm really glad I did.To me, the 15 x 15 size is a must. After using this press, I can see that I definitely wouldn't have been happy with a smaller size. Even though my sublimation printer only prints up to 8.5 x 14, I am able to piece projects together and press them all at once with this press. It's a must if you are doing shirt backs where the project is usually a little larger.I haven't purchased a heat gun yet so I can't attest to the temperature accuracy across the heating platen but the quality of my presses seem to indicate that it's fairly even. I will say that after initially checking my items after the recommended time, I generally go back and press a few seconds longer than what is called for just to be sure everything is good, so it may be reading a few degrees inaccurate but that is not a problem for me. I'm still pretty new at this so it may be a pressure adjustment issue as opposed to a temperature issue. The pressure knob doesn't have any preset light, medium or heavy settings so it's just a matter of trial and error, as it seems to be with most lower cost presses. I have used this press for both HTV and sublimation and just use the dollar bill test (Place a dollar bill, or any piece of paper, between the platens and close. If you can't pull it out, then it is heavy pressure). The handle below the bottom platen makes opening the press fairly easy, even on heavy pressure. One thing I want to mention is that the cord from the press to the controller is not attached initially. You have to screw the cord into the controller in order for the press to heat up. There are no instructions telling you this. I've seen some reviews saying it wouldn't heat up even though the controller showed it was heated to temp so I wonder if this was the problem. I know it threw me for a loop at first.I have this press plugged into a heavy 3 prong extension cord that is plugged directly into the wall. I unplug the press when not in use and have had no electrical issues. It did have an initial "burn off" smell that I would assume is normal for any press. It wasn't terrible, just a normal heat press smell, but it was pretty strong and did get a little overwhelming after staying in the same room with it on for several hours (4+) with no window open. I would suggest opening a window or limiting your time in the room with it for the first several hours of use if you are sensitive. After the first couple of uses, I didn't notice any smell other than what you get from a normal iron.Heating time seems acceptable to me. If you are doing lower temp, up to about 320 F, it takes less than 10 mins. If you are going up to 400 F or above, it's about 15 mins depending on temp. I usually let it start heating while I am finishing up my cut or print projects and it is ready to go when I am.There are some cons, but I believe most of these are going to be across the board on lower priced presses. The one that I have with this press, that you might not have with others, is that the controller is located in the center area of the press. With the top open, it's not the best position for setting your time and temp. I pull the top partially down with my left hand and set the controller with my right. It would be better to be offset to the right or left so that the handle is not in the way. This is a small annoyance, but an annoyance none the less. The only other cons I have are:Beeps when setting the time & temp are fairly loud and I haven't found a way to turn them off or down. They aren't completely obnoxious, but enough to irritate my dog and make her bark. If you are working in your home late at night or early in the morning, it might disturb others. No sound indicator when it reaches set temp, you just have to periodically check it.Again, loud continuous beeps when the timer hits zero. Of course you need an alert, but would like to be able to make it a little less loud. I usually just wait by the press and hit the reset when it counts down to one to eliminate the continuous beeps. It still gives one beep when you hit reset but at least it's not continuous. To be honest, you are usually only pressing for less than a minute to two minutes so it really doesn't take that much time to do this, so just another minor annoyance for me.I think the thing to remember is that you are not buying a $500 - $1,000 press, so it may not have the options that you would with a higher priced press. If you keep your expectations within your price range, and you have the same experience as me, this is well worth the money.

ABSOLUTE TRASH!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
The media could not be loaded. The pictures and video are from my the replacement that was sent. I’m soo pissed! The replacement was worse than the original! It was completely mangled straight out of the box, not to mention packaged upside down! I didn’t even bother plugging it in. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK! Save yourself the money and aggravation(My original review)I received my heat press a couple days ago and I am already having issues. For starters, there were a few screws loose. The bottom plate will slide completely off if you’re not careful. After heating up it smells like burning wires. There is an sappy substance coming from where the wires are. I’m not sure what it is but it has ruined a few shirts I planned to sell. It also doesn’t seem to hold heat well. The temperature gauge will say it has but the vinyl did not adhere to the fabric after multiple attempts.

Product was easy to set up and use. We have been using a different heat press for screen printing and this one has made life much easier for us.

Don't waste your money
When taking out of box I realized how poorly this press was made because everything felt loose. Then I plugged it in and nothing happened in settings didn't work and no heat. The settings box was not even attached when I went to try to make something happen it fell off. The lid felt loose and wobbly also. Spend a little more money and get a press that actually works.
