Midland – MXTA27 MicroMobile Universal Lip Mount with NMO Connector and 6M Cable – Fits Most Trunks/Car Hoods

The mount I received was in retail condition - no signs of previous use. It installed very easily and as others mentioned with the screwdriver trick, you can bend the mount a bit to get the right pitch when mounted. I bent mine just a little to account for the angle of my hood and my installation looks absolutely amazing. The cable seems to be a higher quality cable than the stuff I've previously purchased online - not stiff at all, like a typical coax cable, but rather more like a finely stranded DC conductor. I am very happy with this purchase and even more happy with consistent 50-watt transmissions with my well-tuned Midland stubby Ghost antenna, now that I switched to this mount.

Purchased the Ghost Antena but did not realize I needed the mount and was not included. This worked great and fit perfectly.

If you need a low profile NMO antenna mount, this might be exactly what you're looking for. I have two of these...one mounted on the passenger side of the hood for my GMRS radio, another on the driver side of the hood for my HAM tri-band Compactenna. Both work well. The downside I have found is the need to tighten the screw mounts on the bottom from time to time. My truck is used in overlanding, so often the trails are rougher than your casual Sunday drive, so this could be part of the reason these tend to work loose. But as long as you tighten these every 6-7 months you these would likely work well. I know they are perfect for me!

Easy to mount. Has stayed secure through 2 months and 2 drive through car washes. A plus is the removable cable end that makes for a smaller diameter amount to fish through your firewall. I’d suggest using blue lok tite on the small set screws that secure the mount to wherever your mounting it to. My Raptor has an aluminum hood from the factory. I had to be careful not to dimple the hood by ever tightening the screws while maintaining a secure grip from mount to hood. Once I was able to achieve that, I removed one set screw at a time, added lok tite, and re-tightened the screws. Still a good idea for steel hoods/hatches/trunks.

This product is just fine. I'm an idiot. Purchased the wrong mount type, too late for return, but it will not attach to my gladiator without sitting at a goofy angle. I got trigger happy, and now this thing sits in a box on the top shelf of my garage.

PROS: This mount seems well built and seems to work well with the Midland "Ghost" antenna. The removable connector makes routing the cable much easier. CONS: As others have stated, the mount tilts backwards (see photo) when the set screws are tightened. This is a design flaw and could easily be corrected in the forming process. I shouldn't have to re-form a brand new part in order for it to sit flat after installation ! Do better, Midland !

The radio package came just as listed. In a prompt professional way. Extremely happy with the ease of the install.
