If you look at some of the other product shots, you'll see the Rizers on smaller platform stands that are on the edges of the mix desk. That, essentially, would be the same as the Rizers on a free-standing stand. These do that. I even isolated my drum kit from the floor using heavy, rubber appliance mats. Different material, but the same principle and same result.They work exactly as advertised. They isolate your speakers from whatever structure is beneath them, which means a lot of cabinet vibration is not transferred to the structure and most of the acoustic energy that was lost is now coming out of the speaker. That means more defined everything: tighter and rounder lows, clearer midrange, and smoother, cleaner highs.I have much more expensive isolation platforms for my studio monitors, and I doubt they're doing the job any better, plus they can't be set at an angle like these can. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Speaker Stands - Perfect for Desk Audio System! *by T***A on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2016* I am extremely happy with these MoFo Rizers.
