Chocolate Clay Smooth Cone 5-6 50 lbs

So creamy and soft to throw with 🤩🤩🤩 Havent fired yet but so happy with the texture on the wheel

For the price it's great! It absorbs water to much i think. Its good for practicing My pots look beautiful.

Too soft to throw. Useless. Addendum: after going back and working with this clay, I have found a way to be happy with it. It does require smearing across a plaster bat, followed by extensive wedging to bring the moisture content down. I would recommend firing this clay cone 04 for bisque fire, and cone 5 for glost fire. This was the first clay I've come across upon which indigo float turns out as it appears on the label. Don't panic: it will turn to that deep chocolate brown after glost firing despite remaining pink after the bisque. If you're willing to put a lot of work into preparing the clay prior to using it, this clay can be breathtaking.

My favorite clay, hands down- I throw on a wheel and am fairly new to pottery, but this clay is just a dream to work with. It is extremely soft but very plastic at the same time, feels like butter. Some glazes are enhanced by the color while others do disappear on it. Do some tests and play around with it.

This clay is so soft and great for throwing. It’s like butter! The color of the clay comes through a lot of glazes and makes some glazes react different but it is alway beautiful

Beautiful clay-fired to come 6 (glaze) tried white slip results not good. Also tried matte glaze the clay ate it up. Be careful and definitely do test tiles!

Really beautiful dark clay! Came in carefully packaged, moisture content was perfect. Joy to throw on wheel.

Haven’t fired it yet but it is so wonderful to throw with.
