When using the bottle upside down, the tube is best removed. **Q: Can this bottle hold acetone?** A: No it will not hold acetone for more than a week or so. The straw degrades and cracks, preventing the bottle from dispensing. **Q: Can this be used to dispense essential oils into bottles? Or will it dissolve the plastic?** A: These bottles are made of polyethylene, so depends on the oil. Otherwise, the seal connecting the inner downtube to the cap leaks, making it messy and inefficient to dispense oils. I would go with a higher grade product of the original design where the tube is molded into the bottle and attached to the outside.
