When I first tested it out I used it for the ear and it gave me a temperature of 99.3 F. When I used it on my forehead it gave me a reading of 98.7. I did it a few more times and the temperature for each reading both ear and forehead reading results were about the same each time. The thermometer is easy to use and the directions were clear.
