Hamilton Beach Portable Blender for Smoothies With 14 oz. Travel Jar

This is the perfect small electric blender that every kitchen should have. Nothing fancy, but Hamilton Beach delievers. I had another just like it that I bought in 2003 and I had it for 20 years before I put it ti pasture. What I love is that it is a work horse, it blends frozen fruit and ice, you can open it from the top which makes it easy to taste as you create. Easy to clean because you can throw it in the dishwasher. Its a bargain.

I bought this blender with 2 cups because the other one I had I broke the cup. I couldn't find a replacement for it so I purchased this model with 2 cups so I at least have 2 useable blenders now. Very useful size but quality could be much better.

I purchased the white version with two blender cups, because I had purchased the raspberry version and really liked it, and wanted to be refrigerating one shake while drinking another. I popped the new white cup onto the pink base and when blending it made a higher pitched strident sound. So I checked the bases and noticed that the construction on the white jars is different, and I think somewhat inferior, to the pink jar. The raspberry jar's blade base is slightly rubberized, or maybe nylon. The white is just hard plastic. The shape is also slightly different. I added a tiny drop of lubricant oil to the axle of the white jar and it still made the same higher pitched noise in both bases. So here is the breakdown: Raspberry blender has a superior blade manufacture and is quieter and more mellow sounding. It was even quieter in the white base, than the white jar was in either. The raspberry blender has the cord holder on the sides of the base, and the locking mechanism of the jar to the base is FAR smoother and easier. (I saw someone review that the locking of the jar hurt her hands. I can see that the white version is that stiff and does not seat as easily.) The raspberry jar's lock is smooth and takes very, very little to unlock, while still being sturdy for the blending. The white version has the cord wrap under the base. This leads to easily having a lopsided base if the wrapping isn't tight enough. The blade construction is, as mentioned, a hard plastic and creates significantly more noise than the raspberry version. My impression is that it won''t hold up over time as well, since that type of plastic ages and cracks. If you are looking to specifically get the two extra jars, buy the white version, but be aware of the cheaper construction and stiff locking. If you'd be happy with one extra blender jar, maybe get a colored version.

I’ve had this little workhorse for 3 years now. Use it every day for my post workout smoothies. It’s the best. Highly recommend.

This was the second Hamilton Beach portable blender that purchase from Amazon. Did this because of the two jars included. The First blender jar after a period of usage started leaking out the bottom of the jar seal and got worse as usage continued. So thinking it was just that particular blender jar, I ordered the new blender with two jars. Unfortunately both of those jars proceeded to have the same problem of leaking at the bottom seal between the jar and the base rotary blender driver. The more of the use of the jar the worst the leak on all three jars continued. Originally, I liked the blender and size and the motor was OK for general use, unfortunately the jars leak and are faulty and I would not recommend.

I feel like I should rate this higher because I really liked it. One superior feature over all the other blenders is the lid. This one you can stir and add stuff easily from the top without removing the blades. This keeps things way cleaner and is a feature I struggled to find. The reason I returned this and went with a different blender is because the power just isn’t there. I made a frozen fruit smoothy every morning for a week in my van, and a couple times this thing sorta seized up and smelled like hot electrical. If you get the proportions just right, it blends frozen fruit well as long as there’s enough liquid (all blenders 101). But, I chose another more powerful blender and it really makes it easier that you don’t have to get the proportions exactly right. My thoughts on using a blender without a lid and one you have to unscrew the blades from the “bottom” of your cup is far better than I expected. I’ve learned the right proportions now and rarely have to adjust ingredients after blending. If I do, it actually stays pretty clean when removing the blades and reinstalling. I’ve also learned that if you’re having an issue with the ingredients mixing properly in the other style blender, you can easily just pick up the cup and shake it. Why so many details about NOT this blender? Because the ONLY reason I would ever choose this unit over a more powerful one is the lid feature and I’m explaining why it’s actually a totally irrelevant benefit and doesn’t outweigh the downfalls of this blender. The other options I went with were similarly priced so it’s a no brainer. 5 stars because it has good features and works. 1 star because there’s NO reason to choose this model over any other so it’s really the worst. So I average to 3 stars? This would work for protein shakes without ice just fine, but I would think you’d want a “shakable” option for that anyway…

I drink a daily vitamin-infused drink with collagen, and was initially mixing it in a shaker bottle. Turns out, collagen does not dissolve very well with just a shaker bottle. The Nutribullet-style fill-it-and-turn-it-upside-down-to-attach-to-the-mixing-base seemed a no-go for liquids. My big blender was far too large for a single drink bottle's worth of fluid. This blender is small, has 2 drink bottles of the correct size, and the blades are inside the blender bottle itself, like a normal blender. You just set it in the blender housing, fill it with your liquid and collagen/supplements, and hit the button. Then lift it off, insert a straw in the lid which has a closeable slot for a straw (so liquid does not spray all over when blending, works great!) and off you go. Comes with 2, so clean one, use the other, then rotate. I have been using this about a week or so now, and it is the perfect solution to streamlining my routine. I could not be more delighted.

Muy buen producto Llevo meses con él y aún funciona muy bien y es práctico porque cuando ensucio uno el otro se encuentra a mi lado para ocuparlo. El tamaño es funcional porque luego me lo llevo al trabajo y ahí mismo me realizo mis licuados

Love it. I use it almost daily to mix frozen fruit in my protein shakes. Love having the two cups and wish I could buy more on their own!

Bonjour, Le produit est arrivé en avance dans son emballage unique !!!! , mais intact. Ce mélangeur est parfait pour moi, Ce mélangeur est très puissant. Il est très beau, il fonctionne très bien. Il se lave très bien, pour ma part, je le lave à la main. Il est compact, il se range bien. Je me serre du mélangeur 2 fois part jours à tout les jours. Pour ma part le produit est excellent, mais c'est seulement mon opinion. Ont a toutes des besoins différents et des façons de faire. Dans les commentaires, j'en prends et j'en laisse beaucoup, car je sais que je vais m'adapté ou faire parfois des modifications, je suis très débrouillable....ect... Merci, je suis ravie de m'avoir exprimé.
