A: yes this will take off the rust stains

**Q: Is this a spray ?**
A: It is not a spray but a cream that is applied with a damp sponge.  It worked well on small rust areas on our stainless fridge.

**Q: Is this good to remove rust on outdoor furniture?**
A: If the furniture is stainless steel than our rust remover would be perfect!

**Q: What about high carbon steel, like knife blades?**

Previous owner stored it in non optimal conditions and long lived rust began to pit the blades, the bolsters were corroded, poor little knife has had a hard life. I desperately wanted to restore this rare knife to a proper condition and I searched amazon for a product to deal with the rust and I found this product. Its cleaning power is OUTSTANDING. After following the instructions, I had to apply 4 applications of the product to see a little of the rust dissolve. I still have rust. I will not buy or recommend this product to friends and love ones. “Disappointed” I read up on the product before purchasing and thought I had made the right choice in the purchase.
