Decent crossbow for the money
Great little crossbow for the money. It took a bit to sight it in, but once I got it, it was always on target. This thing will take down any decent-sized game you put in front of it. The plastic buttstock isn't the greatest, as I put a small crack in it the second time using the bow, but it did not affect the performance. If you're looking to get into crossbows without spending a ton of money, I highly recommend this crossbow from Barrett.

Excellent Crossbow
I'm not sure if this bow has been properly advertised, but I want to say it really impressed me. It really is as good as advertised. The bow is fast, powerful, and smooth. If you're in the market for a bow, you really should consider the Killer Instinct Bow.

Broke on the second use. Terrible service. Buy a Barnett instead
Buyer beware! If you have read the other reviews about poor quality controls in the strings and premature splitting of the arms you have a valid reason for concern. I ignored these and took a chance.I might have shot the bow a total of 15 times during the sighting in process and playing with my new toy. I bought this on October 8, and had to return it on October 23rd.I got two trips to the woods and the bow arms splintered. I tried to reach out to Killer instinct the day it happened on Saturday and 4 wasted deer season days later, I still haven’t heard back from them. I tossed it all back in the box and sent it back to Amazon who has infinitely better service than these bafoons. For a few bucks more (pun intended) buy a barnett.

Ruined hunt/got a new bow
Recieved boss 405 on october 4th. Thought it was cool put it together lubed athe parts that required it. Started sighting in scope. Got it dialed in .i was hitting the 2in inch bullseye five times relubed bow. Went hunting took a shot on a doe atv37 yrds missed completely. I get home put practice arrow in shoot my discharge target .its 4inches low at 30 yards . I resight it the following day. Today trigger mechanism breaks while its sitting in my lap shoots an arrow into a tree . The piece that holds the string while cocked broke off. Wth man. I am lucky no one was hurt. So i call killer instink customer service 1 hour 21 min before i hung up. 1 song on repeat the entire time. I have now sent an email and am waiting to hear back.. its now been a month still no word from company, so i take it to the closest killer Instinct repair shop where im told it will cost at least 200 bucks to repair. 😤 i say go ahead fix it let me know when its ready. Shop calls 10 days later says your bow is ready. I go in to pick it up they hand me a brand new bow in the box and tell me its free from killer Instinct. I still have had no correspondence with the company but i have a new bow. For the expanded archery season here in maine . I am much happier now then when i started this review. At the bow shop k.t.p. they told me strings are only good for 100 to 150 shots if you lube every 5 shots , witch is what i did. Im changing my review to 4 from 2 as the new bow scope seems to hold zero.

Easy to use for a 50 yr old hunter. Could be happier
This is my second crossbow within 15 years. The scope is perfect for my 50 year old eyes! I absolutely love the scope. I had gone through 3 scopes in my Barnett due to my older eye site and none of those compare to this scope for me. There's only 2 things I can complain about. The first one is the butt stock is loose fitting, secondly the safety switch is loud. In addition to the safety, the trigger has a long pull before it releases the bolt compared to my old Barnett crossbow. As far as accuracy, it's spot on. I use budget bolts so I take the time to tune the nocks by rotating them 120 degrees until I find it's happy spot, and weigh each bolt to ensure every bolt is matched and balanced within 5 grains of each other. I've found that the heavier the broadhead or field tip, the happier the bolt and more accurate. So accurate I've split a few arrows at 30 yards. My bolts are between 410 to 415 grains with total weight. I had lighted nocks that weighed around 25 grains on them but discovered knocks that are about 12-15 grains work better than the lighted nocks I bought which are about 25 grains. So the take away on bolts is, light tail heavy tip.Make sure you register within 30 days to receive a full warranty.

Awesome bow, hard to cock
This bow is very powerful. Easy to make sure sights are set and stay accurate. VERY HARD to cock!! Husband has to do it for me and he struggles to do it too

Almost Perfect
I didn't know anything about crossbows. I did a lot of research and this seemed the best bang for my buck (literally). Assembly was pretty easy after watching videos on YT. The only complaint I have is the difficulty loading it. It takes a lot of strength. Luckily I'm pretty strong. Great quality product. It is amazing how powerful it is. I shot through a 2x4 piece of lumber for my first shot and it went right through. The arrow got stuck and broke but I was pleased with the sheer power. Other than the loading aspect, I'm very happy.
