Surprisingly great - if you want quick and easy toasties at home
I really love this little toastie maker and was honestly surprised by how well it works. As long as you follow the instructions, it delivers great results — the sandwiches come out properly toasted and evenly cooked every time. It’s super easy to use, with a straightforward design that doesn’t overcomplicate things. One of the best features is how it comes apart for cleaning — everything separates nicely, which makes it quick and easy to clean after use. It’s also not too bulky at all. It doesn’t take up much space and fits neatly in the cupboard when not in use, which is a big plus for smaller kitchens. Overall, it’s simple, effective, and does exactly what it promises. A great little appliance that I’m very happy with.

Great item
This is a fantastic item, bought it for my partner a few weeks ago and since then he has been eating an unhealthy amount of cheese toasties. It makes the bread crisp and the cheese melt and is very quick and easy to use. Really recommend it.

Great for speed and tasty toasties
It’s given me a great new option for lunch on work days where calls are back-to-back and time is limited. It compares well with a traditional toastie maker that gives that little bit of hard/chewiness around the edges but delivers a well toasted sandwich overall and is in line with something you’d buy in a coffee shop. Surprised to read some people are cutting bread down to size as I’ve just let my Warbies toastie loaf slices overhang a smidge without any issue! Cheese, onion and tomato ketchup are my fillings of choice and have turned out great every time. 4* because they’re not the ‘best’ toasties I’ve ever had but they’re definitely not the worst! I’ve found hand washing the outer and plates easy when everything has cooled down.

Fantastic product
Fantastic product. Used very often and perfect results every time. Just microwave at 800 for 2 mins each side. Easy to clean too.

How Does This Work Do Well?
It's really simple but does an absolutely fantastic job. I thought this was going to get thrown in a drawer and never used after the first week, not even sure why I bought it. Turns out I use this at least 2-3 times per week, every week. Makes a variety of delicious toasted sandwiches really really. Bread gets crispy, filling is hot, the good never sticks. While it's in the microwave you can get the rest of your lunch together. My recommendation by the way is 2:30 on the first side, then flip and 2:00. You might like yours more or less crispy than me but this works really consistently for me. I use it in a cheap microwave I bought from Co-op.

Perfect microwave toast
It’s perfect. Followed the instructions and the toastie was perfect. The cheese was melted to the right point and the bread was toasted like it’d been in the toaster. The only small issue is the slices of bread were slightly bigger so I had to cut a little bit off to make them fit perfectly. But other than that I’m very happy with the results so far.

I think people only say it's great because influencers have said it's great (it's not)
Like others, I have seen this gadget all over TikTok, then the price drop on Prime day finally tempted me to give it a go. The promise of a quick, easy toastie with minimal effort was very appealing and I honestly couldn't wait to try it. It fits bread that is fairly square in shape, so my Co-op toastie loaf was perfect. You lightly butter the outside, then add your filling to within 10mm of the edge to avoid seepage. The lid clips into place and then you pop it in the microwave for a duration to suit your liking. Times are given for light, medium and high browning (3, 4 and 5 minutes in a 900W oven respectively) with a flip-over around the half-way mark. For my first try I opted for the medium browning, and I have to say upon taking it out of the microwave it looked pretty perfect. But it was downhill from there... The filling at this point is scalding hot. I mean literally first-degree burn hot. So you need to let it cool for a good few minutes before you bite into it. But my first bite of the corner did not go well. It was so tough I found it to be inedible, and couldn't even chew it. The second bite of the edge only faired marginally better, being chewy rather than crispy. Crust aside, the rest of the toastie was actually quite palatable, although a little soggy in the centre. Undeterred, I tried again on the light setting. This time, I tried cheese and beans, but you can only fit about 2 teaspoons of beans before it's over-filled, and it still seeped out a tiny bit. The light setting was hopeless. The crust was still chewy but the rest of the bread was very soggy indeed, and it still takes a long time to cool down before you can bite into it without burning yourself. The instructions say you can't use this in a combination microwave oven, which was annoying because that's what I have and there was no mention of that in the listing. But I think that only means on the combination setting because I tried it on the microwave only function and it worked just fine. Overall, this isn't a game-changing gadget. The commission-earning influencers have clearly talked-up a fairly mediocre invention into sounding a lot better than it really is, when two slices of bread in a normal toaster is far better in my opinion.

If you're thinking of getting one, JUST GET IT!
I picked up this compact microwave toastie maker to simplify quick lunches and it’s genuinely lived up to expectations. The Mico Toastie Sandwich Maker heats up incredibly fast without any preheating unlike my larger Tefal and I can have golden, warm sandwiches ready in under a few minutes. The non-stick surface are extremely easy to clean, and I appreciate that it’s even dishwasher safe for when I eventually get a dishwasher. The design is able to accommodate even a very thick cut sandwich. Both the silicone and metal parts feel durable. If you've read some reviews you'll see some people claiming it isn't able to make a crispy toastie. Let me just go ahead and say the people claiming this are wrong. It's 100% user error. If you follow the instructions, the Mico is EASILY able to knock out crispy toasties by the dozen. I am really glad I finally bit the bullet and bought this. The easy of use and less time spent washing up compared to a my larger Tefal maker is all the encouragement I needed. This thing really is capable of making a toastie just as delicious as a full size machine.
