Best Theft Deterrence for the Money
Got this sturdy Brinks lock for $13 during a 49% off offer on Amazon. Prior to buying, I watched numerous YouTube videos regarding cut-resistance of boron steel vs hardened steel, shaft thickness, double locking bearings, the number of pins (5 vs 4), lamination (plates), recessed rivets to deter filing them off, picking deterrence properties, weatherproofing, etc. This seemed to be the best choice to deter theft of my new $2000 trolling motor.

Wow, what a big beefy lock. Seems solid with a very thick shank...don't know how tamper proof or breakable it is but it should deter 90+ % of people who might think they can defeat it quickly based on it's appearance alone.

Great value, beefy lock.
Considering the price, this really is a great lock.Pros: Dual ball bearing locking mechanism, 5 pin cylinder with security pins, a very thick boron steel shackle and a nice plastic/rubber bumper for $14 is amazing. Very heavy spring tension make picking pretty difficult too.Cons: only real con is a lack of drill protection for the core.Super great value lock, certainly better than a comparable Master lock.
